Keir Starmer's visit to Adams Park
Saw on twitter that Starmer was at Adams Park. But unless I've missed something there was no mention of it on the official site. Anybody know the reason for his visit?
Might the wwfc.com silence be linked to the republican leanings of our owner? (ridiculous conspiracy theory)

There’s more about it here:

I’m no political poltergeist or whatever they’re called but one theory I heard propounded was that, with a 4000 majority last time out, Steve Baker is probably seen by Labour as potentially vulnerable.
Pollster ?
If the boundary changes take place then the new Wycombe seat (based on the way the wards voted) would go Labour with a small majority.
It's very interesting that the shadow cabinet meeting at Adams Park received no mention by the club despite the cameras going in for a pitchside interview. I was also struck by how right wing the fans on the Facebook group (where this was mentioned the other day) are - I'm not sure why it surprised me so much but it did.
In my experience, People who can be arsed with fan forums or social media usually hold trenchant views on one side or the other! Not generally a place for Lib Dems.😁
Not on Facebook so haven't seen the comments. Are they right wing or anti-Starmer?
Personally I like the idea of the shadow cabinet visiting AP for a meeting. Brings them out of Westminster and as I'm not a Steve Baker fan makes me laugh that he's probably twitching about his career future.
Interesting I always thought the balance was the other way.
They mentioned it on LinkedIn as a way of showing off the facilities, it's more of a corporate thing than a football thing, they can't even release a kit without people melting down that Alfie Mawson isn't wearing it so probably decided it wasn't worth the bother on twitter and Facebook.
I'm not sure I care for the political opinions of the no plan b brigade but that might just be a sign of how divided we are blah, blah
The comments in the Facebook group were utterly depressing. 90% just abusing Starmer and the Labour party. Turkeys and Christmas comes to mind.
How exactly will the boundary change plan out ?
I'll bugger off then...
In a calm measured way without drawing too much attention @bookertease ? ☺
my default setting @Wendoverman
There will be an extra seat created in Bucks, but the main thing for Wycombe is that the Hazlemere ward is moving into the Chesham and Amersham seat. That ward had a large conservative vote.
With Marlow being moved into the Beaconsfield seat in recent years and True Blue Hazlemere on its way to Chesham, coupled with the unpopularity of Steve Baker. The vast majority of us could see a Labour member of Parliament in the chair metropolis for the first time in our life time.
The Wycombe seat, will be renamed High Wycombe at the next election.
I’m still laughing at the “first recorded case of the sinking ship deserting the rat” comment from last week’s PMQs...
I bet this will makes Steve Baker sweat a bit. He's hardly seen doing anything worthwhile for the town, votes in ways just to be noticed / written about (normally against the Whips views) and popping up on whatever news channel to tell the world he would have done it differently (but has very quickly ruled himself out of going for the PM position!)
Possibly. The new Princes Risborough seat looks like it will be the safest seat in the country (estimates say 30,000 majority!). I wouldn't be surprised if he gets adopted for that.
That'll prob be taken over by the new PM! While I have always voted Blue (sorry and I can sense the dislikes already) I have always struggled to agree with Steve's thinking. He votes for himself and not the people of Wycombe, I can't recall him celebrating any of Wycombe's success nor been involved in any good causes around the Wycombe area.
I think its safe to say that I'll be carefully considering my options when the next election is called
The only vote that matters is your next vote.
Steve Baker is a deeply strange man with some extremely dangerous views. The sooner he's off the political scene, the better.
Spot on about the "Turkeys and Christmas". Saying that, anyone slagging off Starmer gets the nod from me. The bloke is a wolf in sheep's clothing IMHO, given the way he continues to treat the traditional Labour politicians. Not quite sure why he isn't in the Lib Dems.
Much as I truly detest the man and the vast majority of his self-promoting opinions, I do believe he got the club a mention in Hansard when he congratulated WWFC on reaching the Championship...
However, I am so very glad that my MP is the polar opposite of Mr Baker.
