Wrongly or rightly, unless there is another signing in the next five minutes, I'm not sure people working at the club are really reading the room. It's just going to wind people up with such a dramatic announcement.
guess Mr C was not being realistic when saying we are going for autos ..based on unproven players...I think not....was trying to sell more season tickets
So, please enlighten us as to why you are so unimpressed by this signing from Manchester United, no less. Were you expecting Cristiano Ronaldinho? Have you seen D’Mani play, have you closely followed his career from a distance?
An attacking player who can play up front or in a wider role.
A forward of that ilk, Mellor has been with the club a long time and is well versed in the United culture.
He scored in the friendly against MSK Zilina in Slovakia in 2016 and has experience of playing in the Marveld tournament and other junior competitions for the Reds. A first Under-18 goal came in the exciting 4-3 Premier League Cup win over Arsenal at The Cliff.
The homegrown product was part of the successful Under-18s squad in 2017/18 and also competed in the UEFA Youth League for Nicky Butt's side.
Mellor, who scored in the home draw with arch-rivals Liverpool at The Cliff, ended up with five goals in 20 outings (13 as a substitute) for Kieran McKenna's Premier League North winners.
The Mancunian came off the bench in the national final against Chelsea in the last game of the youth campaign and had an even bigger part to play in 2018/19. Showing great willingness to work in attack, he was excellent in the FA Youth Cup third-round win over Chelsea and did not want the season to end after scoring a hat-trick in the last game, against Everton.
In all, the bubbly character netted seven times in eight starts (with a further eight appearances off the bench) as he overcame injury to finish the campaign strongly, also coming on as a substitute four times for the Under-23s.
A good start to the 2019/20 season saw Mellor rewarded with his first-team debut, as a second-half substitute in United’s 2-1 defeat to FC Astana in the Europa League.
After injury prevented him from playing in 2020/21, it was extremely pleasing to see him sign a new contract in the summer of 2021 and score our first Premier League 2 goal of the campaign, in the 2-2 draw with Leicester City at Leigh Sports Village
career ? we are meant to be going for autos and making a song and dance about a player who has np football league experience, look at other league 1 signings then look at ours
Leave him (or her/them) alone! He (or she/they) make my ‘knowing’ pessimism seem positively bright and cheerful by comparison.
(Full disclosure - I think this is a really clever signing, but as my record of predicting the success of strikers at Wycombe is abysmal…)
For the official Gasroom records I can confidentially predict that D’Mani will be the victim of atrocious bad luck and score only a couple of goals - both coincidentally against Plymouth
Someone else has noted that in his official ‘unveiling,’ picture he’s wearing last seasons training kit. Either he’s been around for a while or O’Neils supply issues are worse than normal.

What are you talking about?
I was thinking exactly the same. Proper head shaker.

I like the look of him.
Is 1 tweet really that dramatic?
We’re taking a chance on a young striker that has had a difficult time with injuries.
How on earth can people find reason to moan about that?
From the all-important hairstyle perspective, I approve - gives off a certain Three Musketeers kind of vibe, with the facial hair to boot.
It is if you keep posting negative nonsense. Do you actually get enjoyment out of being so downbeat all the time?
Has there been any mention of him being in the first team or development squad?
Do go away @Wanderers82. I’ll say that only once. Second time could be quite fruity!
Why was it a ‘dramatic announcement’? All I read was that we were revealing our newest signing. Did I miss something?
Normally, Sam is in the photos for development squad signings. Maybe he was busy elsewhere!
I want to see micra get fruity
He certainly ticks one of the three boxes which I had as being needed.
"Raw young talented striker"
Now for the keeper and CB.
Welcome to WWFC D'Mani, you're going to love it here.

Senior squad spots now full (born Sep 2000)

Sounds like exactly the sort of player we should be signing.

Recent signings with no EFL experience include Mehmeti and Forino who even you must admit have done pretty well.
Ooh I'm excited. Last Wycombe player with an apostrophe in their name?
Must be O'Nien, but what about first name? 🤔
