Crikey. Next Tuesday’s match is too soon no doubt for new manager bounce to come into play but I’d be surprised if there isn’t still enough of the Ainsworth-inspired do or die attitude and team spirit to prevent the kind of capitulation implied by those two latest predictions.
Have you been listening to the Heroes of HP12 podcast? Extremely long listen (an hour and 24 minutes) and score predictions only feature in the last ten minutes but I was slightly surprised by the 1-1 scoreline that one “lad” predicted. Lincoln are always tough opposition - witness their recent 5-0 demolition of Bristol Rovers - but I’d like to think that we’re strong enough to scrape a narrow win.
Two suggestions for the starting lineup that l completely agreed with were Bradley and Ravizzoli - albeit, as they acknowledged, the latter is highly unlikely to be selected. I also agree that “Gids” should get significant minutes.
No, haven't listened to the podcast. I think we will underestimate Lincoln at our peril.
With regard to our keeper, Norris has not really done anything wrong to warrant dropping him, although you could say the same about Ravs. To me Norris looks more confident, and after all, he was in last years League 1 team of the year. Bradley should be an automatic starter and I agree Kodua should get many more minutes.
I thought, to be fair, Norris was also (?) Portsmouth’s Player of the Season in League One last year but that vulnerabilities subsequently started to show. I think we have witnessed them ourselves recently despite the solid wall of defenders in front of him. And of course we associate Ravizzoli with the most successful part of this season.
I agree on Rav but it’s too late to switch keepers now in my opinion. Dodds has chosen Norris as number 1 so needs to stick with him for the remainder of the season. Rav should never have been dropped though.
Bradley should start every game now and I’d love to see Kodua given more game time.
