The Sheffield Tap
£4.30 a pint, good range of decent ales and you can sit in comfort and watch your train arrive in peace, leaving at the last second. Brilliant place.

Never seen it so quiet. I was in the York version earlier. Both fantastic.
My fault, I've cut off the chairs and tables, dozen or so in here. Wish there was a later train.
Both are excellent station pubs and very handy for changing trains. There is also a very decent (if small) watering hole on Doncaster station.
The little one at Grantham is exceptional (Whistle Stop?)
I suspect Mr Grove may have visited at some point
Oh yes, always try to get there early enough for one. Trains from Nottingham to London are slow, old and expensive, so it’s often a better bet to go via Grantham.
Although if you do find yourself in Nottingham station, Brew Tavern always has a great selection of beers in its tiny premises adjacent to the station.
How have I not spotted that before, will have a look soon.
Looks amazing. I'd miss several trains trying to sample some of those beers (can't make out what any of them are apart from one or two Thornbridge ales). By teh time I stagger out of there I'd be lucky to get on the right train.
Excellent place. I have had more than a few sherbets in there over the years.
