Attendance Prediction - Northampton Town (h) - Sat 25th Jan '25 - Match 27 in 24/25
I go 5500 with 600 away fans.
I hope I am wrong and we do have more than 5000 home fans. The atmosphere on the terrace was reportedly very good for the home game against Portsmouth and I know it was good in the away end for most of the game against Mansfield and it was fantastic there at the end of the game.
One reason for our own attendances not matching comparable sides could be the subscription model. Two or three poor games or an altered fixture list for a month that contains only tv kick offs or evening kick offs is a reasonable reason to cancel a subscription. Also Season tickets go on sale at a time of maximum optimism.
Those who have excess to this data would presumably be able to tell what happened to our number of regular fans since the time when subscriptions were introduced. Of course you have to allow for the complete lack of a chairlift.
Perhaps if / when we do make the Championship, the club could return to season tickets being the focus for those who want to attend the majority of matches. Give a proper discount to those who would have unexpired portions of subscriptions to encourage people to make a commitment for a season. As well as installing a chairlift.

We've been through the reasons for our poor attendances before. I put it down to demographics and there have been general nods of agreement. I predict another poor turnout.
