Travel & Ground tomorrow
Just seen on the news that everywhere North from the Midlands has an Amber Weather Warning for Snow and Ice. We know that this country's transport links all stop when snow falls from the ground so maybe think about a Plan B (just in case) before leaving for the ground tomorrow.
Please take care and your time when getting to and around the ground tomorrow. To make matters worse, it looks like the snow is going to start falling at the final whistle so please everyone take care and stay safe out there!

@Otter87 are you trying to destroy our already epically low attendances???
Only joshing, I echo that, as an old git who went A over T on a slippery pavement after a game last Feb. Be careful out there.
I had to check it was a home game at first!
But you can never be too careful.
If snow's falling from the ground, worth checking you're not upside down.
Assuming that the undersoil heating system is still in good working order, the game should go ahead despite no daytime thaw at grass level today and a hard frost tonight.
But I bet the management team and players wouldn’t be too upset if it had to be postponed, bearing in mind the exhausting recent run of fixtures and the imminence of the six pointer against Huddersfield who themselves recently benefited from an unscheduled break, I believe.
If we had any sense the undersoil heating would suffer a technical malfunction so the game tomorrow is postponed.🤔
I'm already struggling to get to rescheduled weekday games, as I've got me parking tickets, I want all the January games to go ahead and let us have a rest in February @micra 😉
Agreed. No-one who goes to games wants this moved to some even bleaker midweeker!
Ok @Wendoverman. For you, but only you, I’ll bite the bullet.
It won’t be easy as I’m currently without my upper denture. Not a pretty sight 🤔.
Or in Australia
With Neil Peters having left the club I hope there is someone else on site over night to check the under soil switch hasn’t tripped!
Neil Peters left the club? Not seen that.
????
Same, I havnt heard that either ?
He's not listed on the club directory
He was stood by the players tunnel at the Bolton game
Perhaps Bolton have recalled him.
Someone asking if the undersoil heating is on yet gives flashbacks to that infamous postponement of the Fleetwood game in 2013 and the sight of Billy Knott angrily stomping down Hillbottom Road and jumping into (presumably) his parents' car waiting for him.
That was a new low. Fans more or less locked in the Vere Suite and not allowed into the ground even though fans were already inside
Remember the Southend game that went ahead but really never should have done?
I never got my fiver back from the Rotary Club parking.
This made me laugh
I do believe that we would be heavily fined by the FA if the game gets called off (including the cost of away team travel and hotel) for snow or a frozen pitch because we do have undersoil heathing. There is a significant cost in maintaining and running the system. There was a game a few years ago where the club had to weigh up the cost of turning it on and the fine for postponing the game after it snowed on a Thursday before the Saturday game.
no chance it will be pp’d
Undersoil heating only stops the soil from being frozen but it doesn't stop snow from settling on top of it.
Is it worth someone going to Sports Crest / Sports Direct to get some orange footballs ahead of tomorrow?
I also wonder if the pitch lines might have a blue shade to them so they can still be seen if the snow arrives earlier than expected?
Have we still got Bobby C's flaming bins? We could put them pitchside to keep the grass defrosted.
I do remember that Southend game. I forget whether the undersoil heating was on the blink, Jimmy Gardner had a lie in and forgot to switch it on or it was exceptionally cold, but fortunately no one got injured on that skating rink.
That was my birthday treat…called off 20 minutes before kick off when we were in the car park outside. I don’t think we could afford to put the under soil heating on the night before?
Billy Knott - Over 20 clubs in 10 years and only managed to stay at one for more than a season.
He was at Canvey Island last season where is brother is Assistant Manager but looks like he’s retired/without a club now.
I think we hadn’t turned it on as the forecast was for the temperature to be above freezing, got caught out.
Not a good look, was annoying enough to be turned away at the gate. Would have been furious if I’d travelled 200 miles.
Exactly this. I'm sure they put a very definite game on announcement out too, so was annoying to then hear it was off just as I parked up a mile away.
Those Fleetwood fans had a real waste of a day.
You mean the Chair Museum isn't a close 2nd to visiting Adams Park?
