It is a shame, looking at some of the very large empty business car parks along the road that the club could not persuade them to open up on matchday...but I suppose it's already proved impossible.
Yep, you assume the question has been posed many a time, but presumably the benefit versus the security / insurance hassle isn't worth it?
Although in fairness, quite a few of the companies do allow their carparks to be used, and some are chemical companies you probably don't want to park near!
But on a serious note, we need to reduce the congestion around the ground. It's manageable at the moment, but there needs to be a concerted effort to discourage people from driving quite so close. I think relocation is inevitable in 5-10 years, though.
A solid Championship club over the next few years and then look at a new stadium on the M40 for ease of access. The Brentford model of evolution is a good example of what we could be once the whole youth academy beds in.
I've said this before, but don't 100 percent know the rule, but I'm sure there is a rule about how far you can move a club now, we wouldn't be allowed to move as far as Reading, Marlow though possibly, as I think it's the same district
The FA were running some kind of consultancy on relocation the other year, but I can't find any info on any rules. Unfortunately, any precedent of blocking relocations went out the window with Wimbledon to MK.
I love Adams Park, so I feel a little guilty for agreeing that the mockup looks beautiful! It even has the Oxford fans streaming out to their cars after we are 8-0 up at HT in the FA Cup!
As a longstanding supporter, back to the 60's, the fact that we regularly play such teams as Bolton, Birmingham, Charlton, Sunderland etc - so many teams that were just names on the Sports Report 5 o'clock show, I want more! Premier league regulars, like Bournemouth.
A new ground would be good but the town's shape is a problem. So Hazlemere would be a great location. If at Adams Park then a very significant increase in car parking is needed, and there is the land nearby.
We can dream, we have been for 30 odd years already!
I'm not massively familiar with Hazlemere, but where abouts is there room to smash a massive ground in? Presuambly any new area would be swept up for housing in the first instance?
There's a number of factories around Wycombe, but would they just buy up companies for car parking? Or do you mean the estate behind it?
There isn't. The only big open spaces are the rec, where all the local junior teams play, and then you've got a load of fields. And it's too residential in general to build a ground there.
Anywhere that people have to drive to will always disappoint that implacable group of people who still think there should be swift access and exit for their ever expanding car, as well as free parking.
Ideally you want something most people can walk, cycle, scooter or bus to from the town centre, with car options for those who really need to drive. But where is that space?
Don’t know how they play it at Brighton? That’s right on the edge of town. Wonder how getting in and out of there works on a matchday?

Probably tongue in cheek at the end there!
But there would probably be outrage trying to move the ground say 5miles away to Marlow, let alone 25 to Reading.

Idk, one of us might turn into a superhero. Wycombe-man?

We've had a taster of 8-9,000 crowds maybe 1-2 times a season. But a season worth of that would create such carnage it's hard to imagine.

Wycombe Man gets off to a difficult start when he slaps Boy Couhig in the first panel....

That would be really good to confirm.

Wow that looks really good. 👍
I was going to suggest Chairman, but that would just be Dan Rice in lycra and a cape.
I've got it in my head this new rule came in because of Wimbledon/MK
I'm not sure, but I found this. Unfortunately any regulator has yet to materialise. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/a-sustainable-future-reforming-club-football-governance/a-sustainable-future-reforming-club-football-governance
And even that isn't a rule prohibiting relocation.

Bucks Free Press sports headlines ~~ The famous Gasroom select location and design for WWFC new stadium.
Unfortunately it would probably be misprinted as 'The Famous Grouse's delectable vocation can deny Wolverhampton Wanderers' new paladium'.
Wycombe Wanderers "would" go on to move to a swanky new venue near the M40

Adults on scooters should be clamped
It’s awful, been twice and it’s not the best.
