Portsmouth at home in the third round of the FA Cup. What's not to like?
They are four time winners of the Hampshire Senior Cup.
Cowes have lifted the trophy nine times. Their nickname is the Yachtsmen. Apparently, something associated with the town. Also, one of their players once held the record for the fastest ever goal at 2.56 seconds. Must have sailed in.
Happy with this draw, a good championship test and probably a better draw from our perspective than it is from Portsmouth’s which is how I try to look at it.
What a ridiculous post by that Pompey fan. Fratton Park is a decaying relic, there is a bar in the car park at Adams Park specifically for away fans and if he wants a scenic journey he could take the long route through the Cotswolds!
My proposal for the FA Cup, if no replays, is that any time there is a fixture drawn between two sides of different divisions, the lower ranked team gets to pick home or away. They can pick away for the day out and the big pot of cash or home for a better chance of winning. In ties between sides of the same division, it’s as drawn. Not a perfect plan but I think it would work

Sorry, went down a bit of a rabbit hole.
Any particular reason?
That means we now have six home games in January. Won't do attendances any good.
Fear not - it was foreseen, and we will get a dream 4th round tie.
Won't it...?
Inevitable long period barely having any followed by a tonneload.
People will inevitably have to pick and choose, for financial or other reasons.
Even some STH might think about giving the cup game a miss if they're already coming to 5 other games that month.
Is it the twat in a hat and his bell?
Did you know he got banned from St. Mary's for pissing on the seats in the away end?
Only in football do I enjoy being hated ,
He's also an antiquarian bookseller, curious bloke
Did wonder if this was the year we were finally going to get that plum 3rd round draw with everything else seemingly going our way at the moment.
Still imagine Bloomfield will be happy - players wont mind any rotation, game won’t be a distraction, no travelling. Plus a chance to progress.

I know we're flying at the moment, but the BBC seeming to think we can crack out 2 games in one afternoon is stretching it a bit.
Are you doubting the team bus driver's ability to get from Wycombe to Yorkshire in half an hour?
No need, we have a league team and a cup team now.
Not the draw we want but the draw we need I feel, felt the same way about Swansea in the league cup.
A good test for the likes of Skura etc and a chance to progress.
As a reaction to the draw, this tweet will take some beating…
It amazes me people get so upset by an FA Cup draw.
Just to remind people in 2001 it was Grimsby at home. Where did that cup run end up?
Ha. I rushed back from footy with my middle daughter and we got back just in time for the draw.
Don't know what it was but I had a good feeling about it. Even if it wasn't Everton I'd of loved a Liverpool, Arsenal etc.
It's the most fun and frustrating draw I've watched. Shouting 58 to come out a few times, shouting no when we didn't want it to come out.
My eldest loved it. Can't beat the 3rd round draw especially for me if Everton and Wycombe are in the hat.
We got to the semi final in 2001. It was quite good, I’m surprised you’ve forgotten.
Without replays maybe they should follow the German model where lower league clubs are always automatically at home.
TCWTB as he's known

I’d just like us to stop changing the rules and keep the tradition and integrity of the world’s best cup competition.
The year 2001 was a bit of a blur for my adolescent self.
Has anyone got a copy of the photo of our fans in the Holt end Villa Park - FA Cup semi-final?
Pompey famously hold the record for consecutive years as Cup holders. Unlikely to be beaten.
Depends on how long WW3 lasts I suppose! ;)
