  • Sir Josh of Scowenshire for me.

  • Honourable mention for Leahy but Josh wins MOTM for me. Immense performance.

  • Landslide incoming. Josh Scowen that was absolutely magnificent.

  • Should be the first ever 100%

  • Josh... he was better than Messi tonight

  • Thread and award should really be renamed in his honour by now.

Filthy assist , some great passes and new this year - little interceptions and tackles in advanced positions that keep attacks going and stop breaks.

The season award is now the Josh Scowen Trophy - once he moves on, the individual MOTM award will be named after him too!

  • Only one candidate tonight - the irrepressable Josh Scowen, he is our very own Duracell Bunny, head & shoulders above anyone else on the pitch.

  • Scowen was like a cheat code out there. Some sublime threaded balls.

When McCleary came on those two had an almost telepathic understanding

  • Josh of course, sublime in that new role today. A doff of the cap to Morley too though who played a much more Josh-like role tonight, but with fewer leg breaking challenges.

  • McCleary excellent off the bench but Josh was just sensational

  • Josh - Josh - Josh.

  • This might be the quickest MOTM has ever been wrapped up!

  • Scowen was on a different level. Fantastic performance.

  • Leaky had a good game. Scowen on a different level though. That's why Blooms wants to play him further forward!

  • Josh Scowen. It’s always Josh Scowen.

  • Return to normality, Josh Scowen.

  • Scowen by a country mile.

  • Just thought I’d say hello to Jack and Caleb’s mum, great to see you both on the Gasroom

  • Didn't see it...but pleased to see Josh getting the nod. He is so consistent it is awe inspiring.

  • It Asda be Scowen and I’m not joshing.

  • Josh Scowen was absolutely magnificent tonight. Just a shame he picked up his fifth yellow card of the season and will now be suspended for Leyton Orient in Saturday.

  • I didn’t realise that. Josh will be a big loss on Saturday then. 🤦🤦

  • Most redundant poll of the season. I applaud the vote for Butcher though

  • Josh oozes class

  • Midfield 3 played pretty well going forward last night. Scowen’s two goal involvements gives him my vote. Love the way we are playing at the moment

  • Josh!

how he has developed from a tigerish defensive mid to a skilled attacking mid is just brilliant!

  • Josh has now become the first player to ever cross the 80 vote threshold (as well as the first to cross the 80% and 90% of the vote threshold) - in an away game, no less!

As a little extra illustration of how much Sir Josh of Scowenshire has dominated this award, here are the top 30 all-time tallies of the three completed seasons, with all three MOTM categories (votes, match awards, votes per start). Scowen has scooped the win for all three categories in all three years, and they don't always correlate to each other completely.

Not sure if he will win any or all of them this year (though he leads in two of three categories already and is barely behind Kone in Votes Per Start) but this is simple an incredible run of sustained quality performances by a single player.

  • Arise Sir Josh. Every week I repeat the same cliche to whoever attends with me: “Another week of getting to watch Josh Scowen play for Wycombe. Enjoy it whilst you still can.” - and every week he surprises me with his gamesmanship in the middle. Winning free kicks in areas or situations that most players wouldn’t dream of. The most streetwise (on the pitch) I’ve ever seen. Knows every blade of grass like the back of his hand. Plays the ref like it’s second nature. Wins every time. Doesn’t matter if it’s a wet Tuesday night away to bottom of the league because he’s still going to put in 100% every time. Turns up. Does the job to the best of his very high ability. Makes the opposition look silly. Makes the ref look silly. Trudges off. And then he’ll somehow play another 90 minutes in three days’ time like it’s a walk in the park. We are beyond lucky to have him play for us for so many years of his career. My favourite Wycombe player of all time. Thank you for putting a smile on my face at least once a week. He’s here. He’s there. And I’ll enjoy him for as long as I can and never take it for granted.
