Happy Birthday
137 years ago today our first game, a 0-0 draw vs Wycombe Noss. We can’t draw tonight’s game but Champions League opposition may prove a little tougher than The Noss!

Just looking more closely at the photograph and tonight’s crowd will be bigger than the literal ‘two men and a dog’ captured here
great stuff, @perfidious_albion. Which of the besuited types is the analyst?
@our_frank The chap on the left was the attack analyst- did a decent job as Datchet Webb scored our first ever goal in our next game on Oct 22nd. Bloke on the right the defense analyst not so good as Wycombe Rovers scored three in response to record our first loss.
Maybe😉
Obviously the dog was the fitness coach.
Any gasroomers in that team?
Wycombe Nose Club. Maybe we could name the development team after them.
Though The Noseboys sounds odd.
The horse at the bottom of the image was just to wind up Bristol Rovers fans.
We were ‘punching’ above our weight even then.
From COTN in 2012
Unconfirmed reports suggest Mark Stallard was in the Wycombe Nose Club XI
If we’re going purely by physique then I resemble the gentleman top left (Weston?).
We need to stick to tradition from now on... no more team photos without a dog in it !!
Maybe the chap on the right is a player recovering from injury. The fellow on the left looks capable of combining statistical analysis, player recruitment, coaching, disciplinary measures and you name it.
There are at least three great great grandfathers of current/former Wycombe players in that photograph.
Jack Grimmer’s extreme left, middle row. Matt Bloomfield’s on the left of the pair at the front and Josh Scowen’s to the right of the trophy.
I’m sure there are others.
Is that Martin Freeman in front of the trophy?
The one on the back row to the right of the guy with the ball is the Tafazolli of the team with his own YouTube channel.
I stand corrected @floyd , after review by magic lantern the goal is given to Ray not Webb (although the latter went in to be the clubs first star player).
And five players should wear white shorts and six d blue
Can't believe no-one can find more info on the Wycombe Nose Club.
What has happened to the historians at the club?
Whatever happened to the Wycombe Nose Club, Who Nose?
I like the fact that one of them appears to be wearing a tie with his club shirt. He's obviously the Sido of the squad and probably also claims that fish & chips was invented in Micklefield.
Wycombe Nose Club sounds like what a group of yoof get up to before they head out for the night in town.....
The dandy middle row far left sporting a cravat gets my vote
I think that's @micra - back row, 5th from the right.
The horse presumably is for the Nags' Head pub where they used to change. Alternatively it's the White Horse and that Cup was used to collect pound coins (a friend told me).
A nose, by any other name, would smell.
