The reality is you can change all of the team that started on Saturday and still have a very strong side. George, McCarthy, Pattenden, Butcher, Hartridge, Bakinson, Lubala, Sadlier , Taylor plus a few fringe players. Without Taff, Wheeler Leahy and Hanlan being injured. Shows the strength of the squad.
Good opportunity for Bartolo or Peart then. Bartolo did well on international duty which should help his confidence if he gets minutes on Tuesday - although with that said with all the attacking options being brought in recently I wouldn't be against finding a League Two or National League loan for him to help him get some regular senior experience.
Them’s the rules but trying to select a starting eleven for Tuesday that complies with them feels like a bit of a challenge.
Anyone up for it ? I’m just too tired to be arsed, I’m afraid.
BTW, there are a couple of errors (I’m fairly sure) in James Richings’ report. Declan Skura is not a left back. And it’s the Brighton U21s we face on Tuesday not the U23s.
So if you played a team containing George, Hartridge, Lubala and Butcher (and Bakinson/Sadlier), all of whom were on the bench on Saturday, they would qualify. It sounds like Wheeler and possibly Onyedinma will be involved too.
And they don't. Here is the email I just received:
Thank you for taking some time to contact us about the issues you experienced while watching the EFL on Sky Sports+.
It was highlighted to us that a small number of streams experienced issues on Saturday and this was escalated as soon as we became aware. Our support teams engaged and investigated this issue as soon as it happened and they were able to establish the root cause (which was from the stream source). This has now been resolved and there should be no reoccurrence of this in the future. Sky Sports+ App is a free service, therefore compensation will not be considered.
There is a 12 minute highlights programme of the match available on our On Demand service if you wish to catch the goals you might have missed
I'm sorry if this spoiled your enjoyment of the match, however we will pass on your feedback to our Sky Sports teams for their awareness.
This is the main reason I've never touched them. Not through some moral obligation to the PL or Sky but the very knowledge that you can't really complain too much if someone dodgy does something dodgy to you whilst you are in the process of doing something dodgy.
I know that the Sky live games in the EFL are directed and produced by a company called IMG based at Stockley Park (home of the dreaded VAR!) and there have been teething problems at the start of the season. I’m sure things will settle down.
It would be good if Sky acknowledged it. My experience for the 1st game was excellent. Since then fraught with technical issues and buffering. And clearly I am not alone.

Plus Kodua, Skura and maybe a short run out for Fred.
Gideon Kodua is injured.

I'd say definitely give everyone else a game, keep everyone match fit and interested, and hopefully happy.

In order to see who can play, here are the rules.
Each EFL Club shall play 4 QUALIFYING players
Qualifying Player means any Player who:
- had STARTED the immediately PRECEEDING First Team Fixture (League or Cup)
- subsequently STARTS the immediately FOLLOWINGFirst Team Fixture (League or Cup)
- is one of the 10 PLAYERS with the MOST STARTS in First Team Fixtures (League or Cup) this season
- has made 40 APPEARANCES across their CAREER in First Team Fixtures (League or Cup) or international equivalents
- is ON LOAN from any PREMIER LEAGUE CLUB or any EFL CLUB (with a CAT 1 ACADEMY)

Don’t forget it’s a 7pm kickoff .

Wait till you hear which half we scored most of our first half goals in!
Death, taxes and a ‘couple of errors in James Riching’s report’
Surely Vokes, McCarthy, Sadlier and Rav would comply with the rules
Would we be able to put out a team that didn't comply with those rules?
And they don't. Here is the email I just received:

Random question - if anyone has a dodgy stick (sorry, knows someone with a dodgy fire stick) was the stream also crap.
Massive own goal for Sky if the dodgy stream is better than theirs
Sky say that the issue was at the source end.
If anyone is using dodgy boxes / fire sticks, they might want to know about this: https://arstechnica.com/security/2024/09/researchers-still-dont-know-how-1-3-million-android-streaming-boxes-were-backdoored/

Yeah, I won't even let legit Windows or Android devices on my home network, let alone one bought from dodgy source with unknown software running.
(obviously I'm an extreme case - I sometimes work with organisations helping people who are likely targets of nation states)
When they say it was a problem at the source, why did it not affect Wanderers TV’s overseas feed?
Is there more than one source? Seems wasteful.
I imagine it was their truth, but not the truth.
Brown sauce, red sauce or no sauce at all?
Now I know Putin and Xi are pretty untrustworthy...but to come at us through our dodgy football streaming, is below the belt.

ah cool, not like it costs that much anyway

Did anyone use the NOW feed? Was that the same?
I did, it was. WanderersTV was fine though.
Don't buy the excuse it was an issue at source.
“Sky Sports+ App is a free service.”
Err no. No it isn’t.
Wanderers TV via Vpiennes I assume?
The first game was on the main Sky Sports + channel whilst all the others have been streamed.
Not sure if that makes a difference.
