NOT the Matchday Thread: Swansea City
Given the numbers of walking wounded, bandaged and plastered up players, I thought I'd have a quick rollcall for Wednesday's League Cup tie in Abertawe.
UNAVAILABLE (8):
Nathan Bishop (ankle surgery)
Ryan Tafazolli (unspecified)
Aaron Morley (cup-tied)
Beryly Lubala (hamstring)
David Wheeler (unspecified)
Luke Leahy (knee)
Brandon Hanlan (ACL)
Sam Vokes (unspecified)
DOUBTFUL (1);
Jack Grimmer (unspecified)
AVAILABLE (23):
Franco Ravizolli, Laurie Shala
Alex Hartridge, Daniel Harvie, Declan Skura, Jack Matton, Jason McCarthy, Jasper Pattenden, Joe Low,
Cameron Humphreys, Christie Ward, Garath McCleary, Gideon Kodua, Jack Young, Josh Scowen, Kieran Sadlier, Matt Butcher, Tyreeq Bakinson
Brody Peart, Daniel Udoh, Jahiem Dotse, Jaiden Bartolo, Richard Kone
Given that some players might need a rest, especially with a 12.30pm kick-off away at Blackpool on Saturday, we could see Matt Bloomfield naming a rather young, inexperienced team.
Comments
I really hope he gives Skura a run out at centre back.
Are Tafazolli and Wheeler definitely unavailable on Wednesday?
Me too. He deserves a shot at it and we will never know if he can be the "fourth" centre back in L1 if we don't play him. The league is more important for me, so why risk a first teamer? 🤷♂️
Blimey when it's written out like that... to say we're a bit light on experience up front is an understatement
James Richings (BFP) tweeted on Saturday that Bloomfield had confirmed that Bishop, Tafazolli, Leahy and Vokes are expected to be out 'for a little while'. No exact timeframe has been given.
I have Beryly Lubala and David Wheeler pencilled in for a return at Northampton Town on Saturday 14th September, assuming the Mansfield Town home game the previous weekend is postponed due to international call-ups. Having done a quick search I can't find the source, although I feel like it was based on another Bloomfield quote.
Hear hear. I’m sure he’d be fine.
Was he the lad you were treating a couple of years ago?
Lubala did mention which game he was aiming for on the match commentary recently, but I can’t remember which game he said.
Very tough call for Blooms. You want to put out a team that's competitive, and one that respects the time and money Wycombe fans have made getting there. But we also need to be in the best possible shape for an early kick off at Blackpool.
With our injury list those might be mutually exclusive wishes.
I'd imagine Swansea will make a few changes. The 2nd of 3 games in 6 days for them.
No, it was another pro footballer though!
Where's best for parking at the liberty?
Anyone any idea which kit we will be wearing tomorrow night?
It appears we will be playing in our first choice kit (blue).
What happened to Vokes? I was enjoying his rolling back of the years.
Also, what's happened to @BSE ? Picked up a knock?
I would imagine that Beaufort Road and Neath Road would both have roadside parking up until about 7-7:15, the later you park up the longer you'll have to walk. For Neath Road near the car showrooms you'll have a 10-15 minute walk and for Beaufort road about the same, you'll need to head towards the Bowling Centre and youth training ground and take the footpath round the back of those that will walk you straight up to the Swansea.Com stadium. If you want to park closer you'll likely need to pay, plenty of parking places in the businesses opposite the stadium on another section of Neath Road before Rossi's.
Doh, the match is tomorrow now innit.
I came online just now looking for the starting 11.... same mistake made... ffs
I recommend this car park because it is more secure for peace of mind.
Although you can add me to the Injured list, i've had an ongoing joint issue for over a year so you are about the only doc im happy to see atm! ( not that the others have been bad, just fed up! 😅)
I'm afraid I would just prescribe more joints.
I would prescribe a liberal dose of WD-40, makes anything move better!
You can't smoke that stuff mate, it'll kill you.
A card and no mistake. I’ve always inhaled it.
