I thought three points from those first three games would be a result when the fixtures came out...great that they came at the expense of the big man.
There wasn't much in it (for me) first half looked like a 1-0 one way or the other, but what a couple of loans...both with decent numbers of games behind them at such young ages, both calling and looking for the ball and looking to get it forward. Humpreys goal was one of the best I've seen for a long time. Cool head or what?. Blooms was delighted. Kodua on for McLeary was another good call, keeping the pressure on.
Sadlier had another great game. Mixture of youth and experience may pay dividends. I like Kone...but Udoh led the line better for me and I still don't like the goal kick routine which often seemed to lead to another Rotherham attack.
Low and Scowen showed their usual quality.
Harvie and Hartridge much better and I thought Macca did well when he came on.
agree totally - he looks composed on the ball to me. Not a fan of the goal kick routine - not yet anyway - but prepared to give it time and Hartridge to me looks comfortable with it. With a few more games under his belt could be a very good signing
I also hate the short goal kick routine as a matter of principle. But... I could see the point today. Whilst it was risky, it also drew Rotherham's midfielders forwards, which created enough space for Ravizolli to try and get the ball to Kone and (more often) Udoh's feet - rather than them losing headers against giant centre backs.
Would prefer us not to mess about with it quite so much at the back though.
Agree that Udoh should top the depth chart as the striker now. Though he did have the benefit of the two subs who changed the game, which Kone did not have.
Ravs played very well too - he would have won my MOTM if Sadlier didn't.
Udoh's strength holding up the ball is superb, and that was against the Rotherham Wrestling Team. Would like to see us play it to his feet with his back to goal more often.
Humphrys clearly the difference but from the subs we changed totally. Passes stopped going astray, we were on the front foot, we closed better, we got ball wide. It just clicked.
Butcher never got going today. But a lovely problem to have knowing we have a player of his quality is in the squad. Form is temporary etc
We might be at the point where someone has to remind/ put up a case for Rav not to be number 1. Bishop couldn't have done anything better today if he had played, and Rav is ours.
I didn't see it, but they claim Blooms went up to shake Evans' hand and say something like "hard luck mate" only for Evans to fire off a verbal volley at him.
However, someone on here said Blooms laughed in his face, so the case remains unsolved.
Maybe just a case of them knowing what he's like but having had better humans around the place recently (literally anyone else) they aren't prepared for his crap when the football isn't effective.
Goodness knows how I missed Hartridge when I looked at the lineup. I think I tend to confuse his name with Harvie and must have read both names as Harvie. Har har.
I actually thought the short goal kick routine worked fine for the most part. It's risk v reward. You need everyone on it and focused, and when it worked we drew huge spaces between their lines which helped us move forward.
That second half was a team transformed. Playing like that we’d have had Wrexham and the Birmingham boys on the run.
If we are going to play one of Udoh and Kone, right now it’s Udoh. Sadlier for 90 minutes is marvellous. Thought Harvie had his best game and Low very strong. Rav looked very solid. I’d still like to see less of the goal kick routines but hey ho.
Cone on Nige, you know you want to be part of this.

Good to see Rotherham fans siding with Blooms.
Sorry@Lloyd2084, I didn't realise anyone was recording my exercises this morning.
Tactical masterclass from the Blooms, delighted for him.
Blooms has all the qualities to become a great manager, lucky to have him, hope everyone appreciates him.
He brings a wealth of experience that should be of great benefit to the board.
Should help him sleep better overnight at Marlow Road.
We have come up against highly fancied teams with a budget about 14th ranked in the league.
Congrats to Blooms and his team.

Good day at the office!
Hang on, does he kip in the gym or something at the old training ground?
Morley and Hunphreys were absolutely superb, as was Scowen. Keep that midfield 3 fit and we have got every chance!
I agree that we need Big Nige now...not convinced by Hartridge at all.
Udoh looked much better upfront than in the hole behind. Him and Kone looked lost in the first half.
I think Rav keeps his place next game too.
I thought that was Hartridge's best game for us so far today

What a pass from Sads for our first goal. This could be his year.

Sads looks much fitter than he did last season. He was on fire today.
Maybe just a case of them knowing what he's like but having had better humans around the place recently (literally anyone else) they aren't prepared for his crap when the football isn't effective.
Sorry @Shev . No doubt I’m being thick but how did their fans siding with Blooms manifest itself?
Their poor start to the season can only be exacerbated by their high expectations. Evans' schtick only works when you're winning.
The first par is exactly what happened.
Bloomfield then laughed as if to say “it is pointless to argue with someone so ridiculous as that.”
he’d probably eat it
Loved how we changed up a gear happy days

According to Evans, Rotherham totally dominated the game.
They did have a lot of possession but we won.
Rotherham had just 45% of the possession.
To be honest it seemed like more than that, especially first half. However, goals count and we won.
Humphreys. Is he “The Player”?
