Over 70s Cricket World Cup is coming to Bucks

In late July & early August the Cricket World Cup for over 70s teams is coming to Bucks.

Taking part will be Australia, Canada, England, India, New Zealand, Sri Lanka & Wales. Matches will take place starting on July 28th & culminating with the Final at Wormsley (Stokenchurch) on Sunday 11th August.

Grounds to be used are Marlow, Beaconsfield, Amersham and Farnham Royal. England are currently holders of the “Silver Ashes”, having won last year in Australia. Should be worth a watch (if only to avoid the Hundred!).

Comments

  • I see Bumble came out of retirement recently to represent Lancs Over 70s. One eye on this event perhaps?

  • That would be good! Whatever happens, take a picnic & a few beers or a nice bottle of wine & enjoy the English summer at its best (let’s hope it warms up a bit!). Cricket isn’t just about DJs, fireworks & dancing girls!
