Hard to beat a ground by a river.
Indeed
Brunton Park was our first taste of league action and has that wonderful old terrace in front of the main stand.
The New Lawn is great from an eco standpoint but doesn’t have a lot of character.
Crawley is just a bland 90s / 00s run of the mill lower league stadium with nothing of note.
Fulham has to win by a country mile though. We’ve had happy hunting there over the years and it has a blimmin old beamed cottage in the corner!
A very easy choice. Not many better away days than Fulham
Forest Green for the Indian street food
Love both Carlisle and Fulham
Really hard one this as Brunton Park is proper old school and I love the New Lawn for a lot of reasons but Craven Cottage has to win. Possibly the best ground in the league after Adams Park.
Has to be Craven Cottage for me.
Do love the covered terrace at Brunton Park though.
Forest Green 3rd, Crawley 4th.
Feels a bit unfair on the other 3 going up against Fulham
Shame we can't vote against a ground otherwise I'd vote against the new lawn. Terrible to get to and when you get there they control your diet for you. That said I do like their eco initiatives such as the robot cutting the grass and their waste water recyling etc
You can’t go without meat for 2 1/2 hours?
No I can't cope
Smuggle in a lamb chop dear chap, if your very being depends upon your regular consumption of animal protein.
A bit less tofu and a few more steak and kidney pies and they might have avoided relegation.
I have never been to Craven Cottage, and have often cited it as the ground I most want to see. Possible contender at the business end of this competition?
Come on for Carlisle…terrace standing on three sides of the ground…epic!
Brunton Park has the largest standing capacity in England, I believe.
It does indeed - quiz question, can you name the smallest all seater stadium in the EFL? (NB: 23/24 stadiums only, as I have no idea how big Bromley's is or whether it's all seater)
True, but it was difficult to even negotiate Premier League clubs allowing their stadiums to be part of this competition. They only ended up agreeing if I did away with any replays, to limit their exposure to the great unwashed masses of the lower leagues.
Harrogate?
Sixfields - Northampton Town
Bromley's is mostly standing, and mostly uncovered too I think
It is indeed Sixfields! That could change if that side stand ever gets built mind
Interesting, heard once that the basic plan was originally the same as AP though both have had a lot done since being built.
Me too - at least we've got rid of their nonsense - I only wanted MK to disappear more. If they ever reappear it'll hopefully be without the vegan shite.
Hard decision with Brunton Park and Craven Cottage in the same group. Craven Cottage has lost a bit of character since going all seater, but it was my first proper (non-Wembley) away game so I'll just give it the vote. Brunton Park has surely the best terrace left in the league, but the 'off-set' modern stand has always looked ludicrous and a reminder of Knighton's chutzpah.
Personally I like the food at the New Lawn. If you can't deal with missing meat for a couple of hours then you probably need to reassess your priorities in life. Plus you can park for free within 5 minutes' walk of the ground. I would agree that Crawley's ground is a little soulless.
Tough choice. Some great away weekends to Carlisle down the years.
Some fantastic trips to Fulham. Particularly when Jocky tore them apart that night.
The other two don’t get close and that walk up the hill to FGR.
Fulham for me.
Fulham was a great old ground and had been given a pretty good refit but suspect their rating may change based on the huge new riverside stand, it looks like it's on steroids and has all kinds of facilities but the prices are eye watering.
Nearly got run over by one of Al Fayeds goons there when you could still drive down the sides, and it gets bloody cold in winter.
Voted for Craven Cottage because it has always been one of my favourite grounds, ever since I regularly watched the rugby league team there in the early 80s. Then we had that magical night in the Autoglass in our first Football League season. As others have said, it has lost some of its charm with redevelopment, especially the loss of the away terrace, but the cottage and the old main stand still make it a special place.
