For some players it’s the days after the game that become too problematic before the game itself does. GMac does however look like he could play for another decade.
Good question. I’d love to see him start on Tuesday. Give Leahy a chance to play in midfield although he managed to get into midfield from left back quite often today! And, realistically, JJ would probably play left-sided centre back.
We probably have a few players coming back into the squad for midweek, so the best bet is surely giving him the 400 at home where more fans can see it.
Does he start him as captain to go the whole hog, or just bring him on late on?
It's amazing/worrying to think how many managers have lost their job in the past due to owners not being patient enough.
I think sentiment afforded Blooms some credit in the bank, where had it been someone else, there was a time when it was getting bleak, and many would have pulled the trigger. Credit to the owners, MB and his staff, the players (and a select few of us) for seeing sense and having faith in the process.
January was a turning point, and I think Butcher in particular has been a masterstroke - just what we needed.
Not done yet, but certainly headed in the right direction. UTW.
I'll publish full stats for current squad at the end of the season but here are some current or upcoming notables:
Appearances:
Joe Jacobson made his 399th appearance today. Already 4th highest in league era.
Dale Taylor is at 49 appearances, and can leave us with 50 if he is involved in either game.
Josh Scowen made his 222nd appearance today (15th in league era). Nothing notable except the satisfying number itself.
David Wheeler made his 195th appearance today, so sadly will fall just short of 200 if he were to leave in the summer.
Goals:
GMac scored his 26th and 27th goals, and is amazingly only one behind Sam Vokes for us (Vokes is joint 18th and Gmac is 20th in league era).
Richard Kone scored his 4th goal for us today, and already has 4 assists too, for 8 goal involvements in 19 appearances.
Assists:
Luke Leahy had his 10th assist for us, for joint 23rd in era of assists being measured. This also brings Luke to 20 goal involvements in his first season, which is very impressive.
I was definitely in the, heck, this is really going badly and we're probably going to need to get rid camp. Although I always thought he should get the season unless we slipped into the bottom 4.
A good finish to the season and a couple of strong signings and we've ever reason to dream of a play off campaign.
Whilst agreeing with your general point, the Derby and Port Vale matches, in particular, weren’t “2nd gear” matches... they seemed pretty much full throttle to me.
You wonder whether he had a niggle for that 2.5 or so month spell where he didn't get near the pitch, only to suddenly get appearances the last 2 games.
But as long as we were safe you knew our club would do a classy acknowledgement like this.

My mate just sent me that. Incredible.

Hey, Jude !
Another great away day with Ellis. Always felt confident we'd get the result, even at half time.
Good to catch up with some fans I've met recently and a few familiar faces.
3 away games and 3 wins in a week, seriously considering Cambridge away on Tuesday with Ellis.
So does Blooms play JJ vs Cambridge or hold off until Charlton for the big 400?

Spot on, @Malone. Makes much more sense.
Captain last day would be beautiful.
But if he could round up his 99 goal involvements to 100 that'd be utter perfection.
Start the last game as captain, subbed off in the 65th minute.
Yes, starting as captain for me - that way he could be applauded off when subbed too.
#100 will happen, it just has to! Then again, Bayo winning at Wembley in his last game had to happen too!

At least they have another tick off. Jealous
A company called ADT upset him and he has spent months on X moaning about them.
Don't they make burglar alarms
Genuinely my first thought!
Thanks for the clarification. Afraid I’m not fully X rated.

The name does ring a bell.
I think we can lock this in for the end of season gasroom quips awards
Ding Dong!
Really alarming posts here.
Unsurprisingly, Blooms confirmed in his post Carlisle interview that the plan is to rest JJ Tuesday and give him his 400th at AP next Saturday.
Surprised about how emotional I got thinking about JJ’s last game. We’ve been thru it all together haven’t we?

If JJ puts one in from a corner...
I already think we should name the terrace Olympic corner as Jacobson's Cove anyway, but that would just cement it.
If we get awarded a penalty on tuesday we should bring him on to take it.
And move it to the corner
