FA Cup
It appears that The FA have sunk to a whole new low, taking the FA Cup away from free-to-air TV screens (BBC & ITV). At the moment, nothing has been announced officially but its only a matter of time and twitter has lots of different people all saying the same thing.
What are your thoughts?

That’s awful.
dreadful scenes.
They should bin off the Carabao Cup to restore integrity to the FA Cup.
Wasn't it entirely on non-terrestrial TV a few years back?
Done deal

I tried really hard to make that a clickable link
I believe the FA Cup Final will remain on the free-to-air channels as it is a category A sporting event thats protected by law.
Ah, if it is in addition to the terrestrial deals than that isn’t so bad as it will give more clubs tv exposure.
On the other hand, I bet TNT get the pick of the ties.
Games will still be on a free-to-air channel as well. Whether that means less of them is unclear.

Fixed it for you.
What, if anything, am I doing wrong?
I’m not sure it’s even thinly-veiled sabotage now.
So basically the same arrangement as up until a few years ago. Why are people acting like this is a new thing?
I’d love to know subscriber rates for TNT. It’s £30/m for 1 prem game a week, which 9/10 is a very poor match and the CL which is only for fans of those PL teams
Loads of people who don't support UCL teams watch it
I subscribe as they have the bulk of the winter cricket tours now (and I keep getting offered deals at renewal).
Champions/Europa league is pretty good too.
Quick google suggest otherwise, or they watch it and don’t pay.
Yeah probably - the subscription prices are obscenely high, especially in a country where you can't watch most of the top league (well, you can with a vpn).
It got even more ridiculous when they started sticking international games (I think anything apart from England) on Premier Sports, and La Liga on another channel I forget the name of.
To put into some context how much fans over here get fleeced by the TV companies, you can get an online subscription to NBC Sports - which I'm pretty sure shows every PL game - for $5.99 (less than £5) a month. Set your VPN to USA and off you go.
The cheapest price I can find for Sky + TNT combined is £44.99 - for a minority of games.
"My friend" has a little stick that plugs into his TV..... it has everything on it!!!!
That’s all very well until the person who they need to give the stick to every now and then for a little tweak when the channels start playing up hasn’t been seen down the pub for a while and it turns out it’s because his bedsit full of servers was raided by the Police.
I see that TNT sport is available on Discovery+ for £30.99/month (which I believe can be streamed on 4 devices for family members).
Sky sport via NowTV available for £14.99/month if you can find the right deal (which you share between 3 family members).
So if you have big families it can work out at £15ea/month and all perfectly legit without the need to travel to Vivienne or visits to your mate down the pub.
I'm on the Now TV season pass at £19.99 a month which feels a good deal. So would be interested to hear what that £14.99 deal is?
Wait until you get to the end of the current deal and see what they offer when you if you opt to cancel.
Discovery+ come Free if you are an EE mobile and/or broadband customer
That's what I've been doing for the last couple of years. Unfortunately, EE take the piss with their contract pricing, and I've finally realised how much.
Ok, I think when the news broke, a lot of people misunderstood thinking that all of the broadcasting rights were going onto TNT and removed from BBC & ITV.
Amazon Prime customers can sign up to Discovery+, including TNT Sport, for £6.99pm I believe.
You get the standard Discovery+ which includes Eurosport.
Premium Discovery+ is 30.99 which includes TNT Sports
Ok, thanks for the clarification, not at all obvious that's all you'll get. Glad I didn't sign up.
