Port Vale (A) weather watch
Some discussion on their board around likelihood of the game being on tomorrow, generally not of the positive kind:

Different part of the country i know, but Cheltenham game is off tomorrow. It is meant to be slightly warmer tomorrow though, before we start hitting much warmer weather on Sunday
Hope they let all the hardy Chiltern travellers know well in advance. Good luck all.
Would be surprised if this is off. It won’t get below freezing now until kick off tomorrow.
That sounds like it’s going to go below freezing at 3pm tomorrow but we know what you mean ! 😜
It’s important also to realise that temperatures published in official town and city forecasts are air temperatures. In still conditions, ground temperatures will generally be two or three degrees lower.
This says it's off (not my account btw):

I admire your optimism, @HolmerBlue !
it will certainly be slightly less cold tomorrow and the milder air will have reached Stoke slightly sooner than south Bucks. It will be a close call depending on how deep into the pitch the frost of the last week or so has penetrated.
We will definitely not be “hitting much warmer weather on Sunday” (or indeed during next week). It will be milder, with temperatures returning to double figures for the first time since 3 January but, certainly for the first few days, the strong winds will make it feel decidedly chilly.
I really hope that tomorrow’s match goes ahead. There is so much to look forward to and, in the context of changes in personnel and, hopefully, a different approach to game management, so much at stake.
COYB.
Well that was à disappointing post to see after posting my own thoughts !
Remarkable coincidence time wise.
Game off confirmed.
this aged well!
Pretty disgraceful this is off. Sounds like foul play by Port Vale. And Wycombe know it by asking for it to be played Sunday.
Where have you seen that RE Sunday?
It’s on the club official website.

quick reminder that it is not within a club's power to unliterally call off a game. Let's not start with all that nonsense we had the other year with (I think) Cheltenham
Of course it’s not within their power to call it off. It’s within their power to do bugger all to make the pitch playable though.
The pitch is frozen! What were they supposed to do, release sunlight from a jar?
Trying to scupper our relentless march to the top of the table. Shameful.
Would be silly for Port Vale to do so anyway. Scowen's now more likely to be able to play in this fixture, and we're a much better side with him in the team.
Well it works for me! One of my localish games at a ground I have never been to and was unable to get to this weekend due to a prior commitment in Edinburgh- so with any luck can go to the rearranged match!
Under soil heating? An inflatable blanket? Straw? You would think ‘the Wembley of the north’ would have more provision for inclement weather than ‘can’t be arsed’.
Even all their fans are taking the piss on Twitter and are saying its because they havnt got enough players fit, and havnt tried hard enough.
We had to send Fleetwood (or was it Grimsby?) fans home for a frozen pitch once didn't we? It happens. Luckily, in this case before everyone got there.
By 'designated official', do they mean a ref? If so, fair enough. I'm pretty sure a club can't just go 'nah' and call a game off because they don't fancy it.
Yes it will be a ref - probably one of the most senior/qualified who lives in the area rather than the official scheduled to take charge of the match.
Correct, usually a locally based fully qualified ref. I’m not one for conspiracy theories, but if a club doesn’t want to play for whatever reason they can do as little as possible to protect the pitch and even influence the ref’s decision. Not suggesting that happened in this case, of course.
The fear factor of us being unbeaten in 2024 is really getting in some heads!
Not sure Port Vale would have much to gain calling this off.
Lose some income and we might be on the crest of a wave once it's re -arranged.
Was planning on ticking off Vale Park but hey ho.
Flackwell possibly on tomorrow (11am inspection) and Beaconsfield v Sido Jombati’s Salisbury will definitely be on for anyone who wants their fix. Dan Fitchett is also still there? Haven’t checked any others.
Looking at their location, I wouldn't be surprised if it was one of the Premier League refs that did the inspection on the way to their hotel ahead of their games today and they are less than an hours's drive away from St George's Park (where they 'train')
There are currently 16 matches called off in leagues 1, 2 and the national league with surely more to follow
Can't believe there are so many corrupt clubs around who refuse to defy science
