Went for Scowen but Max (kicking apart) earned his clean sheet bonus. Honorable mentions for the back four and Potts.
Potts reluctantly. That was truly abysmal
Though Taf had a very good game. Back four and keeper all did well. Potts and Scowen great as expected. The rest, well best left unsaid really.
Potts, Scowen, Grimmer ok.
Dale Taylor is made of paper.
I'll give you my opinion on Lyle Taylor as a footballer if I ever see him play football.
Max (despite more woeful kicking).
Collectively dreadful overall again though.
Max, Potts, Scowen, Grimmer were decent (6/10)
Sadlier, Low & Taf were ok (5/10)
Leahy was wasted at LB
Everyone else including the subs was a 4/10
Went for Josh again...
Dale and Lyle Taylor are both easily managed by big Centre Backs playing League One football. I.e. wrapping them tight, using the body and getting away with it.
Stryjek for me, Yes did not have to make a ton of saves, but made some decent ones when he had too and some good decisions overall to at least get us a point.
Grimmer. He won a 50/50 and a few people cheered. That was as good as that miserable performance got.
I gave it to Potts, almost as much for being a beacon of hope (“phew, he’s back…didn’t we sometimes win when he was playing?”) as anything else.
I think Grimmer is great in the defensive third, but offers nothing in the other two thirds. I can live with that in a four, for sure, but even Joe Low and Tafazolli maraud forward once in a while.
I feel like Grimmer must have been instructed that way though, there were certainly times under GA when he would push forward, and occasionally with some success.
I don’t necessarily have a problem with him staying back though, when we have not regularly been keeping clean sheets.
He crosses occasionally, an almost forgotten art in this team. Thought he was ok yesterday
That clattering 50/50 in front of the away fans was a (make that the) highlight.
That and the half-time boxer fella getting put in his place.
That was very funny
Given that Max was named in the Skybet League One Friday matches team of the day I guess it should be him.
Max and Josh joint second on 13 votes each but Freddie P in first place on 14. They’ll all be massive on Monday.
Went Max. Despite his awful kicking. Not a great day at the office for anyone although Josh and Freddie had some great individual moments.
So the boxer was Johnny Fisher undefeated BBofC Southern Area heavyweight champion. Interesting lad, has a 2.1 in History from posho Exeter Uni, which rather belies his moniker’The Romford Bull’. I am led to believe that his dad is the fat b@$t@rd on tictoc who eats Chinese and mouths ‘bosh’ at the camera - well it’s a living I suppose.
And as they enter the final furlong it’s neck and neck between Freddie and Max. This is almost as exciting as a Wycombe performance.
