Just how good are we?
Clearly we are seeing real evidence of the team and the new players starting to gell , embracing Bloomfield’s tactics and subsequently results improving but the next few weeks of games against Portsmouth, Bolton, Peterborough, Stevenage and Oxford, will be a real guide as to whether we can compete at the top end of the table. They are tough fixtures but I’m excited to see how this new team competes.

I think the recovery from injury of so many players will be important if we are to sustain the recent progress.
With Wheeler, Grimmer, Tafazolli and McCarthy all injured or unwell (? KVY as well) it’s going to be extremely tough. I hope Jasper Pattenden will retain his place tomorrow because (a) there’s a dearth of potential replacements and (b) he looks well capable of troubling the Pompey defence.
Honestly, as much as I’d love more, I’d take 5-6 points from these games in the belief we may take 9+ points against these teams later in the season as we continue to get stronger.
