It’s hard to criticise a commentator or pundit when what they are commentating on is utter sh1t and nothing is happening. They have an obligation to try and make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear in games like this and when there is more filler than content it exposes the weaker pundits. I’m sure he was sat there wanting to say what we all were thinking
The game was utter rubbish and once again talents are being suffocated by trying to play a system that ensures everyone looks bang average.

I would suggest Di Niro choices have been somewhat erratic but he still has the potential to turn up something good...whereas JS was better in Lock Stock and Snatch than he is 5,000 films later. (Which I admit is admirable in many ways ...)
Lock Stock and Snatch are both great films ! His films nowadays for me are pretty easy to watch, not great, not bad, I don't mind him tbh, he has become somewhat typecast now though. Should try and do something a bit different.

I enjoy a Meg or a Bank Job as much as the next man who needs some mindless entertainment...but given his experience in the genre I would have thought he would have perfected making the Eastwood style quip look like he actually thought of it by now without it looking like cogs are slowly clicking into place and someone had to direct him through 27 takes.

It's the easiest thing in the world to do to slate things. We see it with music quite often.

I'd argue The Bank Job is his best performance by a long shot. Not a fan of Guy Richie's cartoon cockneys.
Snatch is great fun, one of my favourites, but despite basically being the lead he probably doesn't make top 10 best performances.
Blitz is a good film if you don't take it seriously.
