An unfortunate sideshow now for fans of smaller clubs is watching bigger ones piss away loads of money, get into trouble and then scream and shout about the authorities and need help from the likes of HMRC that aren't available for clubs trying to do things properly.
Blaming fans for ultimately demanding unnecessary signings won't ever be popular but he might have a point.
I'm going to be pedantic and say the current club was formed in 1919 after Maidenhead merged with Maidenhead Norfolkians. A merger always creates a new club as there are two distinct histories before then.
