Some QPR fans are worried about the lack of transfer news as the start of the season looms, are unimpressed with the signings so far, have given up on promotion and fully expect to be relegated. Garath and Dobbo must feel quite at home. 😉
QPR self-proclaimed ITK on Twitter STILL saying that talks over Forino are well advanced. They need to let this die. Mind you, I feel much better when I see that their handle is @16BYBABYK33M.
I must say, I'm not liking this whole pattern of us being linked with a bunch of people who then get snapped up by someone else - there's been 5 or so of those already this close season, I think.
Yeah, sure, Leahy hasn't been signed by someone else yet but I doubt we can compete with Wrexham.
Hopefully the rumours aren't true, as otherwise, if we've missed out on 4 or 5 key targets, and all we've been able to get over the line is Keogh, then (add negative ending here).
On the plus side, there's still 4 weeks and I dare say we're just waiting to press the button a few premier league starlets on loan.
I'm sure there are many out of contract players, whose agents have been busy touting them around the more 'glamourous' former PL clubs in L1, such as Derby, Portsmouth, Bolton, etc., in the hope of securing a big payday.
When that doesn't happen, they will be looking for a new home, and as stated in the recent Ringing The Blues podcast, MB will be able to select a few at a sensible price, subject to his criteria of a good fit for WWFC.
I accept that we are looking to pick up players that are struggling to find a club towards the end of the close season.
I’ve no problem with it as clearly that is the financial reality of where we are as a club.
But it does mean that we end up trying to make a team with the players who do come here rather than get the players who we would more naturally see as fitting into the team.
Oh yeah, obviously money is a huge reason. Also, don't think you can dismiss the appeal of two Hollywood movie stars, the idea of starring on a Disney series they've probably seen, and getting all the worldwide press that's come with it.

£10 million for Christie Ward then
The lad needs another season but then…,

They have signings? They should consider themselves lucky. 😏
The money man Tony Fernández has sold his remaining shares and departed today.
Could be interesting times at Loftus Road.
Yes indeed, we could well be replacing them in the Championship.

I swear it's groundhog day here and someone has posted this every day for months now.
🤦🤦
Rumour that we have had an £80k bid for Shrewsbury defender Luke Leahy turned down
Hope it goes through quicker than the three years Gareth was definitely leaving for QPR.
Loose chat that Wrexham are keen for him too.
I reckon that Wrexham are a much bigger appeal than us for most lower league players right now.
Twitter folk suggesting Wrexham are after him.
It's hard to turn down the romance of penniless Wrexham, joining Salford in the quixotic fight against the moneyed establishment...
Oh but don't forget they had a team in the league 27 years ago.
As @micra would probably word it,
"That make dem ting ok"
Another defender? Can we be linked with an exciting attacking goal scoring assist creator as well please?
Scored 9 goals from a more defensive midfield position last season.
Luke Leahy played as a central midfielder for Shrewsbury Town last season.
He has also played as a left wing-back and a left-back in previous seasons.
and took their penalties, if I recall correctly, @glasshalfempty?
Excellent. I like the sound of that. Let's hope Hollywood in L2 holds no attraction for him!

Totally agree. It also can't hurt that they may feel they have a point to prove too.
Spot on, that is exactly what happens every summer.
It’s kinda clever. That make dem ting ok. Innit.
That’s right
