I wasn’t questioning the rights or wrongs of any such law, just that it would be unlikely that one would be in place.
Licensed premises are required to offer free tap water (I believe as part of their licensing conditions?, and they are allowed to charge for use of a glass) but it just seems very unlikely to me there would be any specific laws about football grounds being required to offer free water.
Bar's, Schools, Workplaces for their own employees and a few others need to, I think it's a bit of an urban myth that all shops and business for example have to supply water however sensible or practical it might be.
Might be something in ground regulations. I think the human right / need argument would mean they can't stop you bringing in water, not that they necessarily need to supply it to you and for free anymore than they would do a hat for shade.
The Statement seems pretty good tbh which obviously isn't stopping lots of moaning. I'd hope most sensible people bring their own if only to allow the club to concentrate on helping anyone in particular need.
You learn something every day...I thought these concerns were a bit strange as the security men searching my bag have been ignoring the bottles of liquid (mainly pop but the odd bottle of water) I have been bringing in for years...I assume they consider me a low risk of involvement in plastic container wielding 'limbs'.
I know some have a tendency to hyperbole, but must admit I never expected the club to be accused of denying it's patrons the basic human right to drinking water.
@drcongo The match in question wasn’t involving Wycombe - it was Watford v Sheffield United. Quite distressing to see somebody very poorly & those trying to help being manhandled out of the ground. I wrote a very strong letter to Watford FC. It just proves a point that whilst football clubs get it right most of the time, when they do get it wrong it can be very serious.
If anything you are probably being overly generous, most of the awful things that have happened at football matches are found to be the result of many missed warnings and shortcuts being taken.
I've just done my usual Saturday 10k run and almost couldn't make it back, it's so hot. That's at 10am. If the Football League had any sense they'd postpone today's fixtures, even now. If they do go ahead it's got to be a day for the more youthful players to start, those with energy to spare. De Barr, Mellor, Young, Forino. Maybe even Dickinson?
I'll probably get hammered for this.. but, these are professional athletes in prime condition, and they will get plenty of time to have drink breaks whether official or when there's a break in play, you'd think they've never played in heat before the way some are going on. As for the fans, bring plenty of water. I just hope the queues are better today ! If you think it's too hot for you and you really don't want to be there, stay at home
I dont know how you can come to the conclusion that somebody who is going to be 'tough on France' who described her opponent (one of the richest men in the country) as a socialist and believes the civil service is both anti-Semitic AND woke is a maniac. She sat in a tank you know.
As I’ve mentioned elsewhere - can’t remember where - few, if any, of the players this afternoon will have experienced such extreme heat during a match. It’s totally unprecedented. It’s potentially very dangerous.
Our new leader changes like the wind. Started as an active Liberal Democrat campaigning for the abolition of the monarchy and then saw the light! A leading remainer now apparently a devoted Brexiteer. A Leeds supporter now switched to a Canary.
Who knows what she will be advocating once ensconced in number 10.

According to the Web, it is a Human Right in the UK to have access to drinking water

Don't worry, I'm sure the Tories are doing their best to change that.

There’s been some absolutely great stuff on this thread.
It's been an odd week, maybe the heat got to everyone already.
I've just read that there will be a new fish and chip van operating at tomorrow's game.
Just what you want when it's 35 degrees and blazing sunshine
I've been taking a bottle in for years. Is it just the terrace that has rules on it?
What's that, anyone caught trying to smuggle their own water into the ground is going to be made to sit in a locked car for the duration of the match?
Everyone knows bringing your own snacks and drinks to games is THEFT.
I hope they've got some more reliable staff lined up for tomorrow.
Imagine the scenes with 400 people in a desperate queue for water with just one 15 year old kid struggling to deal with it.

Thanks @A_Worboys , hadn’t heard about that.
Liz Truss and her cabinet of right wing maniacs will try and put a stop to this.
‘We need to stop giving people handouts’.

Being substantially fitter than most of the population doesn't make you impervious to extreme heat

Why “even Dickinson” @aloysius ? He’s currently our number one and showed at Sixfields that he’s a competent ‘keeper.

She’ll probably match Sir Keir when it comes to flip flops.
Is it even political or contraversial at this point to state simply that she seems both dishonest and frankly a bit thick?
Sadly that doesn’t seem in anyway to be a barrier to become the most influential person in the country
Pre-reqs
She wouldn't be in the Tory Party if she wasn't!
I believe she is supposed to be good at maths.
