Was a rumour around football back in mid June. The kid is apparently electric, from the same stable as Chris F-J. Had some health issues which are now sorted. A much much bigger signing than it might appear. 1 2 watch.
league 2 here we come. we are showing zero ambition and feel for wing ....thought he was joining a promotion chasing side not a relagation threatening team
As long as the similarities stop when he leaves the football field, wouldn't like it if he ended up in Trilogy insisting on his own choice of music and fully prepared to insist upon it.
All in favour of this type of signing. It’s a win win for all parties. My only concern is match exposure for some of these kids. With no reserve league (do they even exist anymore) do they get much game time?
That Ainsworth signing young players with potential that we can say are not good enough for L1? What's wrong with signing old gits we can say are past it and just Ainsworth's mates?

A) You don't know that he is not going to be good enough for league 1. But if he is WIN
B) He gets a chance at improving as a pro in a positive environment that has a reputation and record for looking after young players and improving them as humans and players. WIN
C) Plenty of players under perform at a time in their career when others push on. This can be due to injury, focus, luck etc. He might have been overlooked by other scouting networks as a result. If he has... WIN
Would you have signed Chris Forino? What? He's not even a footballer! Colchester let him go! He's at university, what are we thinking!!
Would you have signed Anis Mehmeti? What? He never got close to the Norwich team and they are rubbish! He's playing for Woodford Town and I don't even know where Woodfood is!!! What are we thinking!!!
There comes a point 'Trevor' where you have to concede that maybe, just maybe (and I'm sorry to be blunt) Gareth Ainsworth, Richard Dobson, Sam Grace and Matt Bloomfield know more about football than you.
My friend is STH at Brockenhurst and says that we have got a real star on our hands. Apparently there will be a friendly ( I haven’t checked yet) and he is hoping to see the young man in the Quarters. He is hoping they have a large sell-on clause!

Moaner incoming in 3...2...1...
Some goal that, lovely
Seems like an ideal, low risk deal. Hope the kids does well.
@Wanderers82 is going to be apoplectic!

hahahahahaha
Only 18 so plenty of opportunity to see what he has to offer until he counts against squad sizes.
Looking forward to seeing him progress with the B Team.
Welcome to the club Christie.
My imagination or a touch of Steven Gerrard about his appearance? *He*wasn’t too bad.
Oh, thought asterisks meant italics. Heinz used to mean beanz.
I thought asterisks was a Gaul

so is our plan to sign young non league players and hope for the best .
Wahey!

They play a few behind closed doors games and then the perceivably better equipped players end up on loan to begin with.
how is it a win win if there not good enough for leage one ?.
I reckon you are @Wanderers82 in disguise - do I win the £50?
Are the people moaning for real or is it satire?
This is a more exciting signing than some journeyman disappointment like Josh Parker.
Hell of a coincidence that Trevor and Wanderers82 have the same IP address this afternoon. Either the same person or the same care home.

Exactly this !

Or they've borrowed richie's phone?
OK I'll bite.

Ah, Friendly is against Bournemouth, but playing at Brockenhurst.
No sell-on clause as he joined on a free
Last three seasons:
Push for promotion-covid- win play-offs- promoted to highest place in club history.
Bad start but rally and so narrowly miss out on Championship safety by one point.
Sign Sam Vokes, push for promotion lose in play-off final.
So yes @trevor all that would suggest to anyone with half a brain that the plan is to sign non-league players and hope for the best.
Jesus!
Well, I assume he did as the announcement said he joined "after leaving" Brockenhurst, but who knows these days 🤷
