Lunch and Surrey are all out for 268 off 49.3 overs.
An excellent comeback by the Bucks bowlers as Surrey were 193-2 at one point and looking at a score of well over 300. The wickets were spread around, Cameron Parsons took 3-53. Cameron Steel top scored for Surrey with 114.
Bucks fielding was also excellent, all catches taken, a lot of diving about on a bone hard ground and a superb direct hit run out by Conrad Louth. Another direct hit was nearly out.
Bucks 180-4 off 27. Required run rate of 3.9.
Bucks win by four wickets, 272-6 off 44 overs.
Solid scoring all round by the Bucks batters, Alexei Kervezee top scored with 67 off 53 balls.
A very impressive win, albeit against a Second XI, and well hosted by Bucks and HWCC. About 250 enjoyed an entertaining day's cricket. Alec Stewart, Surrey Director of Cricket, was here today.
That was really good fun today. Brought back memories of Bucks’ victory over Somerset in the NatWest Trophy. Everyone seemed to enjoy the day, Surrey team notwithstanding!
Yes, in June 1987. As a Somerset supporter, I was surprised by the result but pleased for Bucks. They were against a full-strength team in a competitive match unlike yesterday
It wasn't that weak a Surrey team. Apart from probably Burns and Lawes that is the team they will be fielding in the upcoming One-Day Cup.
Interesting to see how they get on against other professional counties after being taken to the cleaners yesterday
Many of the first-class counties will be without numerous players who are to be in the 100. Somerset are losing 8 players and I imagine that Surrey are not far short. The 50-over cup is now mainly a reserve team competition. It will be interesting to see how it works out.
Surrey picked 10 of the 11 who played against Bucks and were comfortably beaten by Leicestershire today at Guildford.
Surrey 246-8 off 50, Leics 248-3 off 40 in reply.
I also remember that game. My abiding memory of it was the slogfest us spectators were served!! Tension in cricket comes in many forms.
