Franchise Project

Amazing result for us last night.

Importantly for wider football though is another year of failure for the Franchise project.

The stadium that was supposed to be hosting Premier League football a decade ago is a white elephant filled less than a quarter with customers paying to visit every fortnight.

Another year in League One, another year of millions in losses and hopefully a small step closer to the funding drying up and having to start at the bottom like every other team.

Younger fans may not understand the disgraceful decision made by that three man panel, but hopefully another club will never be allowed to move so far from the community they serve.

  • Hadn't realised til last night that they've lost every single play off semi final they've been in. 5 now. May their failure rate be eternal.

    ^^THIS^^
And how about the poor bastards who kept Milton Keynes City/Borough going throughout the 70s and afterwards with no real interest from the public and thus no success and which died when the abomination of the franchise was forced on them!
Winklemann must be one if not the worst of the most abominable villains in the whole history of the English game to disgrace it with his presence.
I think something as simple as relegation or a relegation battle next season may be the catalyst to their implosion - I’m hoping anyway.

  • And if the real paying customers are counted only their attendances in a place of 250,000 people and with relatively successful seasons would be closer to
3000 in a nice central-ish geographical position too. Give them a couple of poor seasons and the free tickets being forced to stop and you’d be looking at 2000 or less turning up.and imagine them struggling in league 2.

  • It will be interesting to see their accounts for the season just gone, they clearly went all out getting promotion in the expectation it would be repaid when they inevitably got to the Championship. There can't be a bottomless pit financing this freakshow?

  • How much will the sales of Twine and Darling bring them? Expect compensation for Manning as well when somebody comes in for him. Expect they may well raise enough to cover most of the losses for this season, but hopefully with a depleted squad and lack of leadership they fall apart over the summer and next season.

The recruitment structure there is one of the best in the league - Liam Sweeting is an exceptional SD

  • How is he in HD or 4K though?

  • Half their teams were loans right? They'll be lucky to be mid table next season hopefully

  • Yep, four loanees - all from Premier League clubs. Average age about 20 !

It still feels good to have flushed that one year wonder version of MK in their own toilet bowl of a stadium.
