Interesting comment @railwaysteve. I do run my eye up and down people’s predictions and I have a ‘number literate’ (?!) brain but I do draw the line at working out the average. Honestly!
I thought the co-incidence was remarkable so I was interested in it when I noticed it. Both your predictions and the averages being round numbers probably contributed to me noticing them.
It does look rather like your number sharp brain, trained by years of weather forecasting, could be very very good at estimating an average. Or it could be one of those magical co-incidences.
I was amazed when I saw your post this morning, @railwaysteve, to see how close my figures were. Ironically, having seen the weather forecast for early this evening (and for other reasons I’ll not bore you with) I suspect that 4000 is over-optimistic.

Match Day Morning - a little after nine am and there are 16 predictions in:
Average for Total Crowd: 3998
Average for Away Crowd 300
@micra's 'lets keep in simple' round number prediction is amazing close to the average!
Welcome and good luck to @A_Worboys, predicting for the first time this season.
As for the early prediction award for best use of words and numbers, which is not always awarded every match, this game it goes to @MindlessDrugHoover
Considerable imagination went into to presenting those five lucky sevens in that way.

@micra - credit to you and the weather service.
