Quick Quiz
Inspired by the visit of the massive club that is Oxford (they once won the Milk Cup don’tcha know), it set me thinking
Which clubs have both played a major (FA and League) cup final since we became a league club and played a league game against us?
It’s quite a long list surprisingly. Some easier than others. Don’t look it up

Still four more to go (at least)
Bolton?
Oh, I already got it
Watford
Hull
There's also one who's got to a European final and played us in a league game
Fulham
Man City?
Watford and Hull correct
Not Fulham though - their only cup final came before we joined the league.
Man City also right.
Only one more to find.
Yep!
Fulham was the Uefa cup under Woy, not the FA or League Cup
Leicester (won both cups)
But we haven't played them in the league have we ?
Tranmere Rovers?
Middlesborough
Shit, forgot about that. Plus City...
Tranmere Rovers is correct - lost to Leicester in 2000.
So a total of 18 clubs who have reached either FA Cup or League Cup finals and played us in the league since 1994.
I think it is right that three clubs (Man City, Fulham and Middlesboro) have reached European finals in that time and played us in the league
Did we play Hull in the league?
94/95 and 95/96 https://www.11v11.com/teams/wycombe-wanderers/tab/opposingTeams/opposition/Hull City/
We've certainly played Hull in the league. Dean Windass scored possibly the greatest goal I've ever seen live at Adams Park in a 2-2 draw.
I went to Boothebury park, it was a tedious nil nil draw.
It got worse at Boothferry Park the following year, with a 4-2 loss. Crumbling terrace, horrible, tatty, run-down ground. Awful day out. But since they've moved to their fancy pants new stadium, we haven't been in the same division...
(Other opinions are available. I know there are some on here that like bogs to properly smell of piss as part of the match day experience, and in this respect, it didn't disappoint.)
Do you remember the gents "toilets" on the old away terrace at Gillingham?
It was literally just a wall you walked round the back of
Worse ever was the old Wembley. Nowhere near enough, always enormous queues so people just used to go in the concourse and it ended up just stinking of piss, like the stairs in a multistorey car park
Blackpool bogs before the redevelopment were shocking, mind you the one's at the Gasworks end and behind the main stand at Loakes Park were a corrugated hell hole.
