Thanks @HCblue for pointing me towards that Observer article (under the Guardian banner) purporting to describe George Orwell’s conversion from privileged snob in his younger days to what I believe is referred to as a Champagne Socialist. It was a long read for someone with only a superficial and limited interest in politics but, thanks to @DevC’s originality and your own contribution, I have added modestly to my literary knowledge.
My small monthly contribution to the Guardian finally paid off as I assume that is why it was possible to read the article uninterrupted by the usual mass of pop-up adverts.
I am sorry for not being at the game but it does mean the spreadsheet can do its stuff promptly.
Many congratulations to @peterparrotface who was very close and the winner of the midweek. Honourable mentions for @username123 and @Commoner who were both within one hundred of the 8671, 97% of whom will be disappointed with the result.
As for the 337 who may well have all been delighted. Congratulations to @mooneyman who was just 4 out with 333 and to another single figure miss by @a40 with 345.
