Very good watch. There was a question raised about Jordan Ibe and whether Wycombe wanted to revive his career. Gaz said he and dobbo had a chat about him and moved on quickly. Would not surprise me if we are looking at bringing him in.
Whilst he's very polite and proper and was keen to say they had talked about it and not missed out, I didn't get the impression it was a long conversation. Combo of expected wages, other options elsewhere and personal situation probably made it a gamble they didn't really need at this time.
Mind you, If he was hiding a potential signing and throwing us, and competitors off the scent I'd be happy with that to.

Gaz never gives anything away with potential signings as we all know.
Thanks for sharing. Andre Burley was mentioned but I don’t recall any news on whether he has signed or has been offered a contract. Can’t help but to be filled with optimism after that.
I did too but I realise that I misinterpreted (quite stupidly in retrospect) what GA was reported to have said at the meeting. I read the ‘moving quickly on’ as relating to the discussion about Jordon Ibe between GA and Dobbo.
Helped by @Aylesburyblue’s post of 10.51, I now see that it was after briefly answering the question put to him at the meeting that GA moved quickly on. Semantics, semantics.
So I agree that the door is still open and I disagree with @ReturnToSenda’s conclusion that we were never in for him.
Infamy rules.
I know they can jump on the parking fiasco but it was a bad pre-season for what no players club never tell us anything no ambition we're going downers.
@Aylesburyblue and @micra I agree that GA didn’t say anything conclusive and it’s down to interpretation. The rationale for my interpretation is that GA didn’t want to go into details about why Ibe was considered but no action (as yet) taken, because he didn’t want to talk publicly about another person’s personal situation, which seems to be the respectful thing to do. So he stuck to the facts, to confirm that he and Dobbo had discussed Ibe, and left it there. The past tense, rather than ‘we are considering the possibility’, is the key to it, for me. But we shall see what transpires...

I got the impression Gareth was reassuring fans that they had not dismissed Ibe but it had not been possible to do a deal.
That’s what I read into it. I think the next signing will be via the recruitment specialist and possibly from abroad, it’s total speculation but I wouldn’t be surprised if they are from the Americas . I think Rob would be quite keen to give the club a more intercontinental feel and GA wouldn’t object as long as they met his criteria. Of course I’m laughing at my ability to draw a detailed conclusion from a off line cuff reply to a question.
We do seem to be looking forward and to improving the squad rather than casting around for possible good deals to make up the numbers. I think if he wanted to come back Ibe might have been a shoe-in two or three years ago. Scowen is returning at a good age with more experience and the right temperament. Perhaps Gareth and Dobbo don't feel they have the time to risk on rehabilitating a player this season. We are more obviously looking at promotion rather than just being competitive for the first time i can recall! It's certainly a trickier situation for the management. Whatever the reasons I am sure it was the right decision. (Cue Ibe tearing it up for one of our rivals?)

Either in that clip or another they talked about it but very tricky getting anyone under the radar enough to not face big competition that also qualifies for the visas and permits that would be required. We do seem to be able to compete better now though so who knows. Daryl Dike doing so well will no doubt have agents and scouts scrambling and I think we might have more joy stateside in January as the MLS season finishes in December this year just before the world cup.

Did GA wear that strange mask throughout?
interesting stuff. thanks for sharing ?
I’m bona fide @Lloyd2084 so I’ll unmask the gaffer later and have a cheeky peek.

I concluded the opposite.
For me he ended the question very quickly..didnt shut the door on him.

Burley's name was on the squad list on the back of the programme, so I assume he's signed some kind of extension.
And on Ibe, Gaz said it wasn't one we missed out on, which would imply that we were never in for him.
Excellent video, thank you for posting! What an impressive individual Gareth is.

A great watch. Thanks for sharing. What a thoroughly decent bloke he is.
