I have to agree you Mr Righty, Uche is a hulk of a man, and will from time to time score a wonder goal. But as a targetman who holds it up, brings others into play and gets onto crosses. he doesnt impress me.
More than happy for Gareth to try and improve those parts of his game, but if someone has offered 500k, I would be severely tempted to cash in.
He looks the key to our "new" style of play to me.
We can't play Bayoball to him, but then there's not many you can do.
Add in that we've only seen him in the championship, and be very hard to deal with by a lot of defences - how many pens did he win, how many goals from nowhere did he score etc
It's mouth watering thinking of how he'll do in league 1.
Uche is an absolute force and integral to our new style of play. If the right offer comes in then fine, he leaves and we deal with it and reinvest, but that would be so far from ideal.
Uche looked pivotal to the team end of season, especially with Admiral alongside him, and I, along with plenty of others I imagine, believe he'd be one hell of an asset in L1, but if he goes, and we get a decent amount for him, I will always, always trust Ainsworth to get in an equal or even superior replacement. If the past 7 years have taught me anything, it's that.
I don't think Uche will go...guaranteed place with a manager with faith in you and a team built around you. I think he will give winning L1 a go first...but yes...if he goes for a fee and GA and RD can pick up a replacement...Happy days.
So funny how different people see thing so differently... all entitled to opinions of course!!
I see him as an integral part of our team and from what I saw of uche in the championship, I hope we keep hold of him and can't wait to see him against league 1 defenders... Or even in the championship again if things happen......
Is Uche a 30 goal a season striker? Probably not. Did Uche show in the Championship last season that he can cause chaos in defences and create spaces for others? Yes he did. Are there many Uche's out there? Not many spring to mind. Does he seem like he has been Wycombised? Sure does.
500k might be a truck load, but it's small beans if you can't get a replacement or if the replacement you get is a poor version of the one you have.

All about opinions isn't it.

Ah, but at least it'll be a "truckload of undisclosed".

Righty never misses an opportunity to have a dig at Uche. Best ignored
