Finishing 3rd bottom is the goal. Football is still in financial turmoil outside of the self appointed elite game and there are still teams that can wobble off the field in our league.

I don't wish administration or punishment on all but a couple of football clubs, and at this stage any deductions would probably be next season but you'd hate to not take advantage of anything by not going for the win.
How do you set up for a 14-0 win though whilst hoping to not concede, it's not like we are playing chesham u-6s
I know it’s purely academic, but don’t forget that if the teams we are looking to finish above concede a lot of goals then that reduces the number we have to score ourselves! And for the benefit of one particular poster, I can now say with certainty that this is a must win game!

For us to finish above Derby,SW must win. We must also finish above SW - so SW conceding is immaterial as their goal difference must improve by virtue of them winning. Best for us is a 1-0 win for SW then we need the mere 13 goal victory

You are correct, my dodgy knowledge of maths strikes again.

Yes, I knew you would have to say it sometime but I think you are a few games late.
And if Wednesday go into administration (unpaid wages being a bad sign) then I suspect that could follow relegation and any points deduction would start next season for them.
As said above, we need to win in the unlikely event of a last minute Wigan-style administration. It is even more unlikely owing to the Covid assistance from the PL, but finishing third from bottom would still be ideal.
I thought we had a (very, very slim) chance until I realised Sheffield Wednesday were playing Derby last game. If the goal difference could have been swung on both sides it was vaguely possible, but needing to win 13-0 is beyond even hope.
So although we need Sheff Wed to beat Derby 1-0 to stay up, might be better if Derby win. We could end up ahead of Rotherham and Wednesday and hope someone else gets a massive deduction from somewhere.
Comments
I'm not ruling out Warnock having some long-running beef with Derby and/or Wednesday, and playing his grandkids.
(btw..It's easier than that..at least 13-0.)
Imagine if we get a corner in the first few minutes and Stockdale goes up for it.
Would be amazing

Warnock hates Wednesday remember. Although I doubt he want a 13-0 v Wycombe on his CV.

And of course Rotherham have to draw at best
I know that I will sound boring but we should set up for a win and look to continue our good form into next season

Due to Alan Phillip's missing that header and David Armstrong's 89th minute winner in 1975.
Boro are gonna field players from their 1975 squad.
Yes, I knew you would have to say it sometime but I think you are a few games late.
To be fair we’ve won all of the of the ‘must win’ games in England. Pity about the ones in Wales…
Maybe Cardiff and Swansea will breakaway to form a Welsh Super League, and there will only be one relegation...

"Best for us is a 1-0 win for SW then we need the mere 13 goal victory"
@carrickblue, would we finish above Sheff Wed under that scenario? We'd be equal on points (43) and GD (-20) but what's the next criteria?
That we are debating this shows our supreme optimism, ?
Goals scored comes after goal difference, and we would have scored more than Wednesday.

Imagine the disappointment we will feel if we get 13-0 up and then Middlesbrough nick one in the last minute to send us down!!!
I can hardly bear the thought - we have actually never held on to a 13-0 lead against Middlesbrough!
Hopeless! No plan B! Hoofball! Gaz out!
I'm genuinely talking myself into believing staying up is not actually impossible.
This game is not good for one's sanity

If we stay up it will be as a result of a points deduction elsewhere.
As has been said, need to focus on getting the win and to third bottom, finish as high as possible then who knows what might happen from there.
2000/1 to stay up on SkyBet. Might stick a quid on in anticipation of a financial meltdown at Derby.

Derby v Sheff Wed will be some game. You can keep your Champions League, this is football for me.
Imagine if Rotherham are winning and both team are playing everyone up front. yum
team for Saturday: Worley; Guppy; Beavon; Scott; Regis; Akinfenwa; Ikpeazu; West; Carroll; Betsy; Ryan.
Formation: 11.
Dropping Horseman is controversial. I would play him as the centre of a 0-0-0-10-1 formation if we really want to make a go of this
