Charity Predictions Huddersfield and Derby
Oh dear. Its a season that feels a bit like a cup game against higher league opposition. They clearly have better players but initially team spirit and hard work meant we could compete but now we look like we have got tired and the better teams are starting to look comfortable.
Four correct scores this time around. This season definitely is one for the miserable gits rather than the optimists and hence I have stretched my lead amongst human managers. The only surprise is that @bookertease, arguably the doyenne and role model for us miserable gits (in a predicting context at least) is not further up the table. Overall the bookie still leads having predicted a loss in every single game this season.
If we continue this next season, perhaps a middle/upper middle league one performance will make the prediction league more competitive.

My lack of confidence in our ability to score or keep a clean sheet means I'm feeling less than optimistic.
The one bit of interest I have in this is to see how @DevC stretches his lead with his cold hard Wycombe will lose approach whereas most others have some hope of a win every couple of games.
I really hope the team reward that hope soon.
It's certainly becoming grim.

Back years ago the group I travelled to games with had a similar competition and I insisted on one rule. No one wins if Wycombe don't win. One pound in the pot and pick a winning score. If no-one got it right it rolled on. Got some quite big prizes during some horror runs eventually ended.
I still like the idea of 'no-one wins if Wycombe don't win'. One person I know occasionally bets on us losing just to take the edge of a defeat. I don't get it.
On a Huddersfield related note I made some money in 2009 betting not on a Wycombe loss but on there being 4 or more goals in the game, although I did rather suspect it wouldn’t be us scoring most of them.
And I will say that despite being 6th this year I am not a pessimist as I believe I finished in a similar position last year.
