EFL Cup - What might have been?

After beating us on penalties, Brentford have beaten four straight PL teams in the 90 minutes, to reach the semis. We came closer than Southampton, West Brom, Fulham and Newcastle, proving that we a) belong in the PL, and b) could have reached the semis ourselves.

  • Imagine the state of the injury list if we'd stayed in though!

  • Thought much the same today @Shev . We came close to winning that game late on with 10 men.

I'm a win every game person who's desperate for a cup run but to be honest this season isn't one for big memories whilst I can't go the games.

Imagine that night at Charlton behind closed doors?

  • Well, the past few seasons we have had no cup magic, but plenty of league magic. With the way the league is going this year, perhaps we are saving up the mojo for an FA Cup run!

Very true. I am a "league is way more important" proponent (since the year 2000, anyway), but it would be nice for us to have something to cheer about one way or another!

  • Entering the Cup in the 3rd round with no replays gives us the best chance of winning in 136 years. Now is your time boys.

  • Great post @Shev. Confess I’ve only just seen it!

  • The opening one, I mean.
