Tenuous reasons that WE WILL PREVAIL
Although he may not have finished the season as leading scorer, the last time we had a left back who even approached this feat was in 2010-11 with Andy Sandell (although Rendell [pen] eventually surpassed him)
We finished 3rd (applied on a multiplied Points Per Game basis over 46 games).
And promotion beckoned.
It is a sign.
More 100% statistically significant omens please.

I don't have any statistics to back me up, but after the journey we have been on, I simply believe we will overcome. I am well aware defeat is possible, but unless and until that happens, I believe that these players, this manager, this club, will find a way to emerge victorious. It is amazing to think that a book is being written, literally, about this season, and though conceived at a low point, when the season ahead looked dark and desperate, this book has instead catalogued and described the emergence and rising up of an unheralded group of heroes, with a story so utterly incredible that one would think it came from the pen of a master of fiction, instead of someone observing true events surrounding a little club in Buckinghamshire.
Can we lose? Surely it is possible. Will we win? I think so, hope so, and believe so.
How tenuous do we want?
Never lost at Wembley on a Monday, never lost to Oxford at Wembley... etc
I'll be wearing my lucky pants on Monday if that's any help.
A commendable gesture @Kim_il_Swan.
On my way over to the ground on matchdays I look out for random sightings of swans, which obviously always herald a victory.
Seeing the bus with Gareth's name on it is a good omen for me when I walk to the match.
I drunk two bottles of Rebellion Red during each leg of the semis - two reds in the first leg, two Wycombe goals in the second. I've got two bottles left. What'll it be tomorrow?
We also get promoted when there is a club that feels mortally WRONGED and CHEATED that we have STOLEN our place at their expense.
remember Shrewsbury, everyone?

Posh are the new Shrews. Cheers Darragh.
I drank a crate of these last night and dreamt about Scott Kashket scoring the winner at Wembley

You want portents?
I saw the legend that is Keith Ryan in Flackwell today.
It has to be an omen!
Did anyone see the play-off trophy at Cressex Filling Station today?
No but I saw a very average pointless trophy. Coveted apparently.
Tattoo parlours reopen today. @micra have you booked your slot yet?
Hair removal takes priority I think @Lloyd2084. I’m too old for the hippie look. Will get a free quote tomorrow.
But, yes, I’d better give some thought to the tattoo situation. @BlueBoy is going to hold me to it; he sits behind me in the Frank Adams stand and represents a genuine threat. I have done a little preliminary research into potential parlours and I think Fox Tat will get my vote. I like the fact that they appear to specialise in unusually faint (barely visible) artwork. Also, for the last few months we have had regular evening visits from a family of foxes.
I feel remarkably calm.
Oxford might feel claustrophobic in a complete stadium?
I may be getting a bit too into this.
oh come now, surely Ainsworth's benchmark is THE SHIRT THAT WON GERMANY THE 2014 WORLD CUP FINAL?
Just had a call from Saint Martin, that really is a happy omen.
Amazing, I love that man.
He’s going to be on Quest tonight
As neutral as ever no doubt!
I mentioned Old Speckled Hen ale somewhere but I can’t remember where and that’s before a drop has passed me lips. For some reason I associate it with Cornwall because that’s where I’ve drunk most of it on draught.
Hyever, I see that it is now brewed in Bury St Edmunds - not a million miles away from Bill T, I think. Well, same county at least. Another omen.
Oh, and I looked out of the kitchen window a little while ago and one of the fox cubs is lying right next to the mower I want to use!
Is it not Greene King? Who used to sponsor the terrace. Another omen?
I can hear seagulls. Seagulls are birds. Swans are also birds. We're going up lads.
Old Speckled Hen used to be brewed by Morlands an Oxfordshire brewery. Not sure if it’s a good omen or not that it’s been hijacked to Suffolk
I can't hear the emu now though!
I just found this in a cupboard.
Oxford die.
I do like our centenary merchandise. Throws everyone when I tell them we celebrated out centenary and 125th ‘birthday’ 28 years apart
That sounds very vaguely familiar @bookertease, why was that?
