WWFC-themed Only Connect quiz

Inspired by @bluntphil 's excellent quiz last night that featured an Only Connect-style sequence question, I thought I'd knock up a connecting wall for those already suffering from both WWFC quiz and Only Connect withdrawal symptoms.

Select four answers that you think are all connected until you have found all four groups. Some answers may overlap!
Guessing the connections for each line are self-marked, you don't need to get the exact connection stated in the answer, award yourself the point if you were roughly thinking along the same lines.

    The website isn't a perfect facsimile of the TV programme (puzzgrid.com was better, but alas it has recently been shut down). The three lives rule when there are two sets left to guess is the same as on the TV, though I haven't got around to timing how long the round on the website lasts.

    @Cambridge_Blue The point of not putting surnames was that the some answers could be correct in different connecting sets, otherwise it'd be too easy! This was fairly tame compared to the actual TV show, which I'm sure is mainly responsible for my receding and greying hairline.

    EDIT - puzzgrid.com is apparently back again at this time of acute Only Connect puzzle need, it was down for a couple of days at least
