One Manchester club down. Another to go?

  • They didn't do too badly on the pitch yesterday, beating Newport 5-0.

Fair play to them for the result but this is another struggling football club this season. Us as Wycombe fans may not be entitled to give an opinion on it as they are a division below and whatever else but surely EFL fans have help them in some ways??

They paid a significant fee to AFC Fylde in January for Danny Rowe. Perhaps it would have been more prudent to clear some of their debts instead!

  • As long as people pay sky subscriptions to Rupert. yes

Wasn't the fee quite small? He was clearly not happy there so a small fee would make sense. Never less it's pretty stupid to do that and possibly going into administration by march.

Agreed £75k is quite a small fee, but probably still a bit silly when you have the Inland Revenue chasing their money.

  • @mooneyman surely the EFL could block that from happening if that was the case??

  • Like they blocked Bury's reckless spending @thedieharder!

    Murdoch doesn't own SKY anymore.

  • It has been reported that Lawrence Bassini with the financial help of David Sullivan is trying to buy Oldham after failing with his bid to buy Bolton earlier this season. Hardly a partnership made in heaven!

  • EFL seem to have really tightened up their rules on ownership now..... Although they found themselves totally clear of any blame over Bury so that's good.
