Oborforh will have to be the defensive cover from the bench then.
Although Phillips can cover the middle too, to some extent!
Anyone there who can see if Fred is at least warming up with the team?
This is the problem with estimating dates someone will be back, as that Jan return clearly will be Feb at best
Not sure if this has already been mentioned on here, but this is tragically sad.
I did see on some Facebook comments that Sunderland supporters have suggested a minutes applause on 13 minutes out of a mark of respect for this poor lad.
My son played with Oliver at Downley Dynamos for many years.
He truly loved his football and could be found with his dad in the Valley most weeks.
I think it is incredibly moving and a credit to Sunderland that they have organised this.
I see a lot of their fans have given to the Sepsis awareness charity that Oliver’s family have nominated for donations.
No parent should have to face this type of tragedy. In some small way, hopefully today’s gesture will show the family they are not alone and a lot of people care.

Have we started slowing the game down yet?
Yep - kick off will be in slo-mo at 3:12pm, as things stand.
Let’s hope the wind slows down as well.
On my way!!!! COYB!!
Is the game on 3CR today?
Love the Sunderland Twitter feed talking about the big game at home to WW. Imagine that even last season!
Should be on 98FM although I’m sure @bluntphil will be able to confirm.
No Grimmer again ?!?!
Nope
And no sub keeper.
Cue Allsop being sent off (probably for time wasting) after 15 minutes
Slightly amazed Oboforh not starting after last week’s performance. In Gaz we trust

Tough on Sido if we’re going without a defender on the bench and he’s fit.
Nice balance to the subs bench. 4 attackers 3 midfielders.
Yates was injured in training this week apparently.
Yeah, thought he was dropped not injured.

Could be a knock..could be fatherhood related. Would certainly be bizarre to not find a place in 7 outfield subs otherwise.

How awful. That makes my heart sink for his poor family.

COYBs.
I'd say that our 2 biggest goal threats (not including JJ) are on the bench in Kashket and Bayo. Wonder if we have set up for the draw.
I really really really want Aarons to come off the bench and score a last minute winner!!
1-0 already. Come on lads!
The applause for Oli was deafening on the commentary.
Brilliant stuff Sunderland. Thank you.
0-2. Gonna be a long day
I hope Grimmer is back soon. His replacement is in a different class.
Midfield not fit enough coming back from injury and going straight into the team, and blooms too old and slow, starting line up too negative
The chances of turning this round are......0
0-3. FFS
