Unfortunately, I was not around when this was our home. I wish I could have been to a game there. As Gordon said, just shows how far we've come, and hopefully more better things to come in the future.
@drcongo I love that set. I have a few from the 80's I took at Loakes park. When I was sober enough to hold the Camera! I am going to try and get them on hear over the weekend.

1-0 defeat just about scuppered our promotion chances, especially as I think it was around this time that the six points gained from the Newport games were taken away.
Also, a rare shot of Loakes Park with crowd segregation.
do I remember there being a little bit of fisticuffs behind the goal at the Gasworks end and John Goldsworthy giving them a ticking off over the tannoy like naughty schoolboys?
I will also remember that they had a bloke who wore a red & white hoop jumper who would stand there giving it the large one to Wycombe supporters at many of our meetings.
My first memory of attending Loakes Park was during the war to see a demonstration of American Football by the Americans stationed in the Abbey. For a memorable occasion the day in 1947 when Frank Adams handed over the deeds of the ground to the club takes some beating:-http://www.chairboys.co.uk/history/lprk1947.htm
Our opponents that day were Corinthian Casuals and I remember them wearing all odd socks.

This is the sort of thing I would love in this thread, doesn't have to exclusively Wycombe related. But certainly old School Grounds.
