Happy Match Day morning.
Spreadsheet updated just now.
11:40 and 35 forecasts - We think the crowd will almost certainly be between 5000 and 6000 so it will be another 'allow time to arrive and leave day' We say with between 4100 and 4900 fans with pedigree.
Average for Total Crowd: 5773
Average for Away Crowd 1340
Last allowed predictions - one hour before kick off - in other words three minutes after 14:00.
I seem to remember hearing somewhere that the county is in fact ours .....
The credits for accurate predicting of the gate belong to @micra who was just out by 7 with 5250, nobody else was within 100. Next closest was @ForeverBlue 104 away with 5347.
Collectively we overestimated the crowd, their crowd was around 200 down on what we thought they would bring and ours was about 300 down, with just over 4100 Wycombe fans attending for what turned out to be quite a glorious occasion.
@DevC deserves an honourable mention for being closest to the number of unmentionables - his estimate of 1122 was out by 8. Quite a few were within 100.
Fleetwood thread up later tonight or tomorrow morning.
I have to hold my hands up @railwaysteve . I must have forgotten that I’d already made that accurate prediction on 12 August because I posted 5750 on 17 August. Stupid boy!
@Micra - just in case there is any doubt, congratulations are well in order for you. The '7' counts, saved by the bylaw which says that you can only change a prediction if it leaves the total crowd alone and converts opposition fans into Wycombe fans.
I wish I had noticed the second prediction before the game - then I would have posted a "sorry @micra, this one won't count", quoting the bylaw. Then the first prediction would have come is as champion.
Anyway your foresight was properly there. A honourable win and a good score to take forward to the season long competition.
