Not sure “reasons” are called for. Sounds like very good news to me. The guy is clearly very fit and looks well able to be a key central defender (and probably skipper) for two more years.
If you’d asked me earlier in the season, I think my answer might have been somewhat different!
“Feeling tired and fed up with the daily grind of football as you enter the twilight of your career? Come join us and get Wycombe-ised and rejuvenated and get back your mojo and we’ll reward you.”
He turned things around nicely over the season, that's for sure.
But it does seem curious we'd award another year without having seen how we'll fare in league 1.
However, @Bacon_Sandwich nailed it, it must be contractual.
It's gone a bit quiet on JJ and Jombati, but it is still very early days, and I'm sure someone will point out contracts probably expire end of June.
To be fair I was expecting the same - but not quibbling about Yves' extension. I loved his cameo v Stevenage, "Grobelaaresque' as one wise gasroomer put it.
Jombati has done very well to get a 2 year deal I think.
I'm pleased, as he's a great guy to have around in all ways, but as someone who didn't always start when Harriman was out, he didn't look on for such a great deal!
I wonder if JJ might be looking for a 3 year deal. One that would potentially see him to what could be the end of his football life, and tide him through the last bits of studying.
If I was JJ, I’d be playing hardball too and waiting for a better offer. He’s a key player, our only natural left back, a dead ball specialist and very popular with the fans.
Given the apparent generosity with other contract extensions I would be surprised if JJ was only offered a one year deal. I would imagine he is probably considering his options however. This is likely to be pretty much his last contract I would have thought so if he does fancy a different challenge its probably now or never.

I can only presume it was a clause in his contact. Otherwise why have we done that?
Without knowing the facts I think it's vitally important we come to a collective Gasroom decision on this matter.

I am outraged. What are we discussing, sorry?

oh no @micra we all know what happens when an opinion is expressed. Schoolboy error.
I think he does a good job, a good leader
We need Dev's definitive view on this subject!
My definitive view.
GA knowing the facts deemed this the right thing to do.
Good enough for me.
no just a pure extension that we have offered.
Makes sense, he'll be much more in demand next summer having captained us to back to back promotions.
It’s also good marketing.

Curtis Thompson now released, watch this space ..........

"double contract news coming up" apparently, I expect that'll be them.
Not quite...
oh well, 1 out of 2 and all...

Come on JJ... "sort it out"

not a chance - JJ has been offered 1 year which is why he hasn't signed. (YET)
@rmjlondon where did you get the one year offer from? Source please.
Brown or red?
Leave it @Bacon_Sandwich @rmjlondon has just gone back into the negotiations.
No test matches for him this year?

Or none at all?
but cant run anymore, 1 year or nothing if I was GA. We can replace him without a problem.
That’s most reassuring. Thanks @rmjlondon.
