Is anybody from WWFC Keeping tabs on John Mills of Didcot Town?

Another 4 goals yesterday in Didcot's 5-0 win at Bashley. That's 53 for the season. He's already attracting interest from Notts County and Luton. It would be a shame if it by-passed Wycombe as that's the club where Stuart Beavon came to prominence.

Is David Roberton still the board member responsible for the playing department at the Club? You might want to have a word with him about Mills if he is.

  • Beaver made the transition to league2 standard via Torquay The gulf from non league to div2 is massive, look at Styche, M Viera etc way off league standard good enough for non league

  • Perfidious, there are always exceptions although I accept not a huge number. Chris Waddle, Les Ferdinand, Chris Smalling and more locally, D J Campbell and Fitz Hall all started in non league.

  • Gareth said at the last meeting that any players coming in would have to be able to jump straight to div 2 . pity no reserve team to give guys a trial

  • Ian Wright, Stan Collymore

  • Stuart Pearce

  • The scouting system these days is much more sophisticated, elite players don't slip through the net anymore and the top flight is so competitive that 'late developers' have no chance

  • @perfidious_albion Rickie Lambert, Wes Hoolahan...

  • Journey men who worked hard, got lucky and didn't quiet make elite level

  • Your ship is sinking perf man the lifeboat.

  • Charlie Austin,Dwight Gayle,George Boyd and James Vardy all doing pretty well in the Prem.

  • Beaver made the transition to league football from Weymouth and not Torquay Mr Perfidious albion.

  • @ChasHarps Yes indeed basic stuff!

  • one South Coast non league club much like another- still no elite players just journey men

  • Ashley Williams is doing pretty well

  • Both Austin and Gayle only 25 and not yet reached their prime but your calling them journey men.
Austin could be the most expensive journey man in history this summer.
