New Away (Change!) Kit Sponsors

Utilita power will now be sponsoring the away/change kit.

I wonder, does this mean an entirely new design, or just cookie-cuttering the sponsor where Beechdean used to be?

Does this also suggest a change in sponsor/design for the home kit?

Comments

  • Hoping for chocolate and pink quarters like every year..........

  • Oddly we are getting a new second kit. The white kit becomes a third choice but the home shirt stays. And we're getting new goalkeeping kits.

  • Surely that home kit will be quietly replaced with just a knowing nod and shake of the head?

  • Shame, I'm a big fan of the white kit.

  • me too - I'd gladly have us wear it at home instead of the current monstrosity we've got

I suppose the only saving grace is that next year they will be able to replace it with a classic, no frills quartered design. Hopefully they'll get the dark blue the correct colour as well, unlike the current one

  • @glenactico I imagine the new 'change' kit wont clash with any kits in the division, so the white kit is being kept as a back up - unlikely we'll wear it again I'd say

  • Utilita will want to get their money's worth, so presumably this will be the end of the home strip being worn for away matches where it does not clash with the opposition.

  • Hope so, until we get a home kit that isn't dreadful

  • The bottom of the article actually clarifies this. Same home kit but with embroided crest rather than printed.

Change kit will be different with new sponsor.

  • Also, agreed Eric, current home kit is disgusting, as was the last one. I'm still wearing the Samsung one from a few years back.

  • That Samsung kit was by far the nicest we've had in a long time. Keep it simple.

  • The current black and turquoise kit could be the worst ever for me - stripes of Smith included

  • Has any other club had different sponsors for home and away shirts, or is this a first, does anyone know?

  • @Shev Pretty sure it's happened elsewhere.

What I think may be unprecedented is Notts County's arrangement to have 9 different sponsors this year, with each having about a month on the front of the shirt. Fans can buy a shirt with any of the 9 sponsors on it, or just a plain one with no sponsor. There will probably be at least one who will buy all 10 versions.

  • Thanks Uncle T! I wonder if come next May, Notts County fans will be nostalgic for the September shirts...

  • Also, a couple of years ago we had Samsung for home and Fifa as 'change' kit sponsor

  • @Uncle_T , imagine the hassle that'd cause! Laughable!

One of our recent kit manufacturers could hardly keep us stocked in one version!

  • Arsenal did it. Think Sega was on the away yellow

  • Sorry changed kit!!

  • Hang on...Notts County fans can buy a shirt with no sponsor on the front? I never thought i'd be jealous of that mob, but here we are...

  • @Tom I don't think so. I think it was co-branded home and away with both FIFA and Samsung.

I own one and it has FIFA on the back, and Samsung on the front.

  • @Shev You may be interested, given your interest in music, to know that one of the Notts County sponsors this coming season is a Nottingham musician by the name of Jake Bugg. Not sure you will have heard of him in the US, but he has had a couple of chart hits and a No. 1 album here in the UK.

  • Thanks Uncle T. I had not heard of him, but looked him up on youtube. He sounds pretty retro! I could imagine him opening for Bob Dylan in the 1970s.

  • Great news though in so far as the corporate support and presumably good financial revenue these deals being?

If this is the work of new GeneralManager from Christmas time he deserves full credit

  • Who knew big Barry was a budding fashion designer.

Judging by his 'efforts' I'd say no-one.

  • @arnos_grove but no-one wanted to be the one to tell him?
