Family section for away fans?

Given the need to maximise revenue & in the light of restrictions on away fans at Adams Park I wonder if WWFC have considered this?

The away end has 2,040 seats but is artificially restricted to 1,800. I could understand if this was to leave the first row or first two rows of seats empty for security reasons but it's not.

In view of this (when the away end is likely to sell out) how about using the end of the Beechdean Stand as a designated family section for away fans should they prefer to sit there? It would be an alternative for people with small children if they feel it would be too boisterous behind the goal.

Wycombe fans have a popular designated family area, perhaps it's time to do the same for away fans. It would boost the attendance by around 250 which would hopefully offset some of the additional police costs for having to manage a large away following.

  • Think it'd only boost it for 2 or 3 games a year, and those would sell out anyway with our without.

Nice idea but can't see how it'll generate income.

  • A suggestion that may be worthy of further consideration: I have had opposing fan father and young son sitting in front of me in our Family Stand before now, because didn't want to go in the away end.

  • I believe a Luton family were asked to leave our Family Stand on Saturday.

As I was getting my halftime cuppa, at the tea-bar by turnstile 6, I saw a group of four people, sporting orange and white scarves, being escorted out.

    Of course, they may have...
    a. just wanted to beat the traffic
    b. had a family emergency
    c. needed to get to another appointment
    d. got sick of Hyltons antics
