  • Are the television games decided?

  • @Tom - Yes we can. I don't think I need to remind anyone of Eastwood Town now...

  • Basingstoke anyone?

  • Met Police

  • We can screw it up royally... but it's hard not to be feeling confident.

  • I would expect gaz to do a thoughly professional job he will be totally aware of the importance financially and for the profile of our club. Don't forget Hereford

  • Delighted with that. Regardless of the fact that it improves our chances of getting through, I think playing a non league team just has a bit more intrigue than facing a side regularly in the same league as us.

  • Fleetwood Town and that Jamie Vardy fella, whatever happened to him ?

  • When we've lost to non league teams before, we've either been in the middle of a shocking run, or had a flimsy spine.

Gaz will get our team of physical brutes up for this one for sure.

  • Being at home makes a huge difference.
Eastwood, Fleetwood etc were away, small ground, horrible conditions, pitch is poor, locals out in force to support their team.
At home however it's a different story. E.g. Chelmsford...

  • Errrm - Fleetwood away, we were beaten by a superior side. Nothing to do with pitch, ground, weather conditions...

Take your point about home advantage though. As Martin O'Neill once said when he was here: "all you can hope for in the Cup is the good old 'home draw'..."

  • We had a home draw against Basingstoke, and then lost on penalties away. Nothing is certain in the FA Cup. COYB's we want Man City in the 4th

  • Watching the highlights, we can't afford to give many free kicks away in our half or throw ins near our box.

  • I noticed that, they have a fella with an absolutely huge throw, on our narrow pitch that could cause quite some confusion if we no longer have Jamal to come and collect high balls.

  • Bloody terrifying if we don't have Jamal NOR replace him with another goalkeeper I would have thought.

  • Not thought of that. Losing Jamal could disrupt things somewhat. Will be something of a shock if we do lose but we've all been around long enough to know that shocks do indeed happen.

Presumably a draw would be in the best interests of everyone? Nice new away ground (have we played there before?) Replay guaranteed to be on TV so a decent match fee to add to the coffers. And we should still fancy our chances of winning through to the 4th Round

  • @wformation although as Stourbridge's manager pointed out. Man City could be out before we even kick off

  • Hopefully noone has come in for Pierre either. Hopefully we can keep him well into Jan, if not to the end of the season.

  • Remember when people would rather Pierre had left in the summer?

  • If we still have Pierre come the Stourbridge game, win and then get a big draw away. Does that tempt him to stay until the 4th Round, meaning only 3 days left to sell after that.

  • Surely Scott Brown's loan finishes at the same time as Blackman's Dev.

  • We were slight underdogs at Fleetwood

  • @bill_stickers I believe it does which is worrying.

  • Lot's of disrespect for Stourbridge. If they matched and ultimately beat Northampton they can't be that bad. The tie is more interesting as a result but certainly no easier. No wonder some find it so easy to moan. They set up their own disappointment.

Looking forward to the game. A proper cup tie. Lots to happen before then though with matches and possible squad changes

It'll probably come round again. Ainsworth's gone from buffoon to genius in 6 weeks. Quite concerned about @Wwfc2015_ whereabouts - missing in action!

  • There's a bubbling undercurrent of all the original dissenters, loitering in the shadows waiting for their moans to be voiced again.

You know the ones, the ones like the guy Fleming on the WWFC group continually moaning every single week, yet now barely seen, apart from occasionally abusing those brave enough to call out the dissenters.

  • Or the handful of absolute morons at Doncaster continually abusing not only Pierre and Ainsworth, but Harriman as well.

  • It's going to be a good game but beware, I remember wycombe doing well against higher teams before turning professional but I think wycombe will be in the next round
