There must be a strong possibility that Tuesday's match will be postponed if the forecast of 24 hours of mainly heavy rain in Newport proves accurate. Would that be a good thing, I wonder, given the form Newport are in currently?
Given that Wycombe have won the last three matches in which the manager has picked his strongest eleven - including their last two away games - now may be as good a time to go to Newport as any.
Never a good thing, get it played, you never know if fixture congestion will catch you up be it through cup runs or a bad winter. Just remember we played 67 first team games in 92/93 as a Semi-Professional club! That meant even back to back games amazingly enough.
I got a message from a Newport fan off another forum as follows:
"Just letting you know that there was a lot of rain, as well as wind, throughout Saturday night / early dark hours Sunday and Monday is forecast plenty of rain down here with potential showery weather throughout Tuesday. We shall just have to wait and see if the weather is kind enough to allow the pitch to cope. Thus, don't be surprised if the game gets postponed"
