The madness of kit clashes .

So Fifa have ordered Scotland to wear their shocking pink away strip at Wembley on Friday. As the Navy blue shirts clash with England's white. For 140 years one of the most iconic sights in international football, was to see the white shirts, blue shorts and white socks, up against the dark blue shirts, white shorts and red or navy socks of Scotland. It's Utter madness.
And yesterday I tune into watch Eastleigh v Swindon in the FA cup, and find the ref has allowed the Swindon keeper to wear a shirt that was so similar to the outfield players, that it was virtually impossible to distinguish between them in a crowded goal mouth. When did the laws regarding Goal keepers Jersey colours change ?

They're getting their retaliation in first over the poppy saga, making them remember war dead dressed like Mr Motivator going to a glo stick rave.

What's wrong with the keeper wearing a green (or yellow or black) jersey and their team's shorts and socks?

  • Agree re the ridiculous trend of clubs/countries choosing or not being allowed to wear their proper kits . we see this every week at club level ,the most blatant example being Arsenal at Watford this year . The excuse for FIFA to do,this was not helped by the horrible and utterly non traditional England Kit. If the shirts were white their would be no problem.Yes when did it become ok for keepers to,wear the same coloured shirts as their own team or the opposition ? Mad mad mad !
