  • Not sure what part of it was amusing @aloysius . The negative, every other word a sweary/abusive comment, for 90mins? I don't really find that funny now i'm older than 13.
I notice the gesticulating at some pretty unsavoury looking Luton characters stopped pretty sharpish outside the ground. Not so brave then of course!

Glad someone else heard the racism. One fairly stocky Wycombe fan got a real shove from a steward for the first instance of it. I think his accent masked what he'd said to a lot, but I and the steward heard it.
Then followed some other loud mouths (usual main guy) piling in abusing the steward.

Am amazed how much the stewards will take to be honest. But then it's probably not overly easy getting into a frenzied mob of abusive boozed up types.

On O Nien, looks the sort of set up Jombati had when he was out for about 3months or so. I remember we were pretty guarded about his injury until he emerged at Dag N Red away with such a protective boot on!

Is O Nien's style too all action for his body I fear? 2nd season, 2nd long knock now.

  • I won't even bother watching GA's post match press conference, he is undoubtedly going to say that the squad has a deep injury crisis and that when those players come back we will see the pace we are missing blah blah blah. The real truth will be how we play with a fully fit squad which by the looks of it may not be until the new year by which time the damage may already be done and team morale at an all time low, GA was so happy about the teams performance against a 'strong' Northampton side in midweek despite the home side making 6 changes. I for one am not amused.

  • @Malone when I say I was amused by their behaviour I mean mostly mean by their futile attempts to play the hard men. I do think they might wish to spend a little more time in the gym before trying to provoke some of the Luton Ultras, if any fight ever did occur it would be woefully one-sided.

  • Fair enough! I misinterpreted :-)

Luton certainly had some sinister looking characters in that close section. Probably not the type I would feel confident taunting for 90mins.
That was as nasty an atmosphere as I've been in the middle for quite a while.

The irony of course was sitting near the front was mostly to avoid the wannabe yobs.
So that feeling when they all burst in at about 2.58, expecting to just stroll into the top of the stand, only to have to come right down the front...garhhh

  • @Malone "Wycombe til I Die" drowning out the "Ainsworth Out" chants at the end from the usual suspects was quality. I was unfortunate enough to be quite close to them, they were not amused.

Don't mind those young lads having a beer, sing song etc but don't have a pop at your own fans. Also, if you do don't hide behind 5 of your mates when someone gets the hump about it.

You are right about some of the blokes behind Lutons goal though. I think the Yoof may have picked the wrong battle there :-)

  • We havent played well for 9 months now with injured players not looking likely to be back anytime soon think we will be in a relegation battle.

  • Gareth explaining why Pierre was left on the bench. Who would be a manager indeed? http://www.getbucks.co.uk/sport/football/news/wycombe-wanderers-boss-explains-aaron-11839522
