As Man U, Man City, Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool have declined to participate,
I think they are having to try and justify this idea. As it’s not going to plan before a ball has even been kicked. If it’s meant to increase interest in the competition and increase revenue for the lower league teams that doesn't seem likely, as with the great respect to West ham I don’t think people will be as interest as they would for a match against Arsenal or Tottenham. With the other argument of helping to develop home grown talent by give them the chance to play against league opposition, well if 1/4 of prem teams academes are missing a large number of these development players will be missing out.
A lot of the kids on the fb page are losing their sh!t over this.
Of course, the risk of that dreadful B teams in the league idea is the real worry, but for me, this cup is an absolute crock of sh!t as it is, so any change has to be worth a go.
Just a shame/disgrace that West Ham are allowed to opt out of their home game, as playing at a Premier league ground would be a bit more interesting than 750 at some sh!T heap league 2 ground!

Not yet.
I'll believe it when they pass legislation requiring 100% of FL clubs to vote in favour if the idea is ever raised in the future.
Here's the link by the way: http://www.premierleague.com/news/66244
Not convinced at all. The line between academy teams and B teams is drawn in the sand.
Good to see that our very own (BFP) Pete Lansley is still going strong.

I just hope we get knocked out asap of this shit tournament. I would rather have my eyes sucked out through a straw than watch any of these games.
That'd certainly stop you watching.

Maybe it's just me
Guess West Ham don't want a bunch of kids (even their own) and League Two guys messing up their brand new pitch
sh!T heap league 2 ground? Go back to the Facebook group you're so fond of quoting if you can't be a bit more positive.
sorry, "in comparison with premier league grounds" obviously.
@Bluedreams West Ham are limited to 25 games a season at their new ground, or have to pay £100k extra per game.
then they shouldn't be in the "tournament" then if they can't meet the requirements.
Can we 'opt' to play our games on the rye?
@Malone, thanks for that.
POmpey are walking out in protest http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36953689
Fair play and hopefully more fans will do the same.
One off or each home game in the competition? Could become a costly form of protest.
